❝And if only letting you go

was as easy as loving you❞

It was it, the day her fate was hanging on a balance.

everything was to chance, or fate as she believed it to be. she had prepared herself for everything, no life or a life without memories and the only hope of retaining them back.

She heaves a deep breath and descends the staircase to be greeted by her entire family, she's dressed in a simple traditional dress, her duppatta wrapped around her neck. She fidgets with it as she greets everyone, managing a smile. They call her to do the aarti before they leave for the hospital, and as she sings she pours her whole heart into it.

Abhir clasps his small hand around hers tightly once she's done, and motions for her to lift him up. He was growing older and she couldn't do this with as much ease as she did before so her heart tugs painfully as she lifts him up.

"I prayed to Mahadev and I know everything will be completely fine" Abhir whispers into her ear, and she gives him a soft smile. she had spent the morning with him being thoroughly affectionate with him, and he had been increasingly hopeful telling her that everything would be alright.

"i love you abhir" She says, tears stinging her eyes and soon he has tears in his eyes too. "you're my everything, and i want you to know that no matter what happens. you are always mumma's only love and strongest boy. you deserve everything good in life and i'll always make sure that's what you get"

He hugs her tightly, hiding his face into her neck and she lets her tears stream down her face. They had decided that Abhir would stay home, not wanting him to witness what would come after or be near the hospital setting.

The rest of the family watch with moist eyes, and they let them be alone and decide to get into each of their cars. Akshara finally lets go, and she sees Manjiri in the corner of her eye, holding a hand to her heart.

She had no idea that Manjiri would be the one taking care of Roohi and Abhir while the rest of the family was away.

"Shefali was called to the hospital by parth, so i came i hope it's okay" Manjiri explains herself and Akshara shakes her head telling her it wasn't necessary. Manjiri knows a lot has happened between them and she had done irreversible things but it still pained her immensely to see Akshara like this, when she was in her rational state of mind she still considered Akshara her daughter.

"Khanaji will make sure that nothing happens to a kind soul like yours, try keep some faith" Manjiri says, daring to take a step forward and squeezing her hand. In that moment, they relate to each other, both of them had lost the prospect of hope after that unfortunate day but here they were telling each other to bring it back.

Akshara wipes her tears away and presses a final kiss to abhir and gives roohi a big hug, and with that she meets her family in the car and makes her way over to birla hospital. The weight of her world hangs on a balance.

The first person Akshara looks for is Abhimanyu, but he's the only person not there right now. Richa throws her a comforting smile, and Akshara smiles back appreciatively. Abhinav appears at her side, and tries to get her attention. She had to go in for surgery prep in ten minutes and this was her time to spend a couple of last minutes with them.

"Akshara ji, I just wanted to say thank you for everything" Abhinav says, "I don't know what the future holds, but the new life you helped me experience will forever be with me, no matter what happens."
