epilogue

akshara and abhimanyu enjoyed their secret relationship phase. it was just them getting to know every little change that had happened over the course of six long years. akshara knew that abhimanyu was a decent cook, but never had she known he could cook so well. abhimanyu had also discovered that akshara had taken up writing, just small snippets of her life in a journal. 

the best part about secretly dating was sneaking out together and trying hard to not get caught by any of their family members. meeting in the hospital wasn't an option as akshara had taken up the job of the music teacher at abhir's school. it was temporary as well as coordinated with her law internship, but music and teaching were two things she enjoyed so it was a good stage for bigger things she wanted to achieve in the future. yet abhimanyu would reach during her lunch breaks whenever he could so they could share a meal together and the both of them would exchange secrete smiles when he would come to school to pick up roohi or abhir. 

date nights starrted off with extravaganza, dressing up and going to nice places, because it had been so long that they had done something like that along with the fact that it felt nice to get ready for each other. of course, slowly they molded into casual dates walking by the beach and eating street food or impromptu bike rides late at night. 

it would be the hardest to hide their relationship during every other sunday when both their families met for brunch. abhimanyu would sneak past everyone into her room, at times and try to sneak chaste kisses. he would annoy her by grasping her hand under the table leaving her to squirm till she finally resorted into stepping onto his leg, as revenge. the giggles and glances were too obvious added into the fact that they couldn't keep their hands to themselves, always needed to stand extra close or brush past each other. at one point, everyone knew something was brewing between them yet they didn't expect them to actually be together and hide it from all of them.

of course, eventually their secret dating phase was prone to end as their family caught them out in each others arm leaving no possible explanation but the truth. 

"i can't believe it!" manish exclaimed and swarna looked between the two, who were seated on the couch in their living room with both families surrounding them. "hiding it for five months!"

"you could have told us" mimi coaxes, and manjiri nods but out of everyone she doesn't seem to be upset as much- mainly glad that it was working out between them. 

"you're acting as if we're children. we're adults and we can be in a relationship" akshara argued, feeling rather silly at the setup. they were acting as if they were teenagers caught dating, not the parents to their child. 

the adults stared at them and for a a second, akshara and abhimanyu felt nervous. but then they all broke into wide smiles and laughed, "we're joking we're so glad you guys are together!" they exclaimed at once and everyone was hugging them and congratulating each other. abhimanyu swore he saw his father hand money over to manish. 

akshara felt abhimanyu's hand rest over hers and she turned to him not realizing the wide smile that had spread onto her face.

Rohan and Richa's wedding started off with a thousand worries but ended off perfectly. Both of them smiled so brightly and there was a different aura surrounding the newly weds. Their wedding was the absolute defintion of happiness, akshara couldn't remember a solid hour where she wasn't laughing or dancing until the rituals. 

"You're finally married, who would have thought?" Abhimanyu joked with Rohan while Akshara and Richa tried hiding their laughs. 

"and sir aap toh abhi bhi shaadi nahi ki" Rohan teased, causing laughter to spur among the group.
