He took her to the group of doctors who take various scans and tests, they had to confirm a few possibilities and side effects.

She fiddled with her fingers, as she waited for the results. She didn't even notice the cup of coffee handed in front of her till the holder, clears his throat, "Akshara"

Her attention snapped towards him as he gave her the cup of coffee, with a look of reassurance. She took it from him and gets a weird sense of deja vu, she can almost see their past selves walking hand in hand through the halls, eating lunch together during their breaks and even Abhimanyu trying his best to pull her into secluded rooms during their breaks.

Birla Hospital was filled with memories of their past, and it was more painful than she imagined it to be. Her phone goes off just as she's about to take a sip of her coffee, it was Abhinav. She knew he wanted to talk after them coming back and about their divorce but she blew him off. Mainly because she didn't know what to say to him.

Abhimanyu's eyes moved towards her screen and he has a sinking feeling. Things were still uncertain, and ever since Abhir called him papa there was no nervous tension between Abhinav and him. "How's Abhinav?"

"You should ask him that "she snapped growing irritated, Abhimanyu never failed to insert Abhinav into a conversation. Almost as a reminder to the both of them.

She sighed, knowing that she shouldn't have reacted that way. Things had been different between them, they had moved past their awkward tensions as she regained her memories, in particular their kiss in the hospital room. And then at the thought of any danger reaching him, she had lost her ability to breath and at the sight of him, without thinking of anyone, she once again jumped into his arms. And now they were flirting even, calling each other best friends.

"It's okay, I was just thinking about something and I snapped at you when I shouldn't have" Akshara apologized and Abhimanyu shook his head.

"No I shouldn't have asked" Abhimanyu shook his head suddenly feeling that he was once again intruding, his insecurities growing. 

"No Abhi it was my fault, I shouldn't have randomly- It's just, he told me that he wanted to talk about the divorce but i don't want to. Now he left to Kasauli and i don't even know if he's told abhir" She confessed and he was taken aback at her honesty, plus the use of his nickname. They had told each other that it was merely a nickname and they could use it if wanted, but he didn't think she would, but as she did it gave him more confidence that maybe he wasn't a lost cause after all. "And now i'm scared i'll break abhir's heart. I mean how could he just do that, but worst of all i don't feel too bad about it? But now all the elders will call a discussion on this and i really just don't want to do all of that"

"Akshara, you don't ever have to do anything you don't want to. It's your life and you have the right to live it the way you want to" Abhimanyu declared, his eyes shining with honesty. "And don't worry about your family, you're strong enough to make your own decisions and take care of abhir. And I'm sure things will get better"

"You always know exactly what to say" Akshara whispered, her eyes slightly moist. this was the support she always needed, he always helped her realise her own strengths and pushed her to do everything to better herself. 

Before either of them can say anything further, Richa's voice breaks through the cafeteria and the next second she rushed towards, "Abhimanyu and Akshara!"

"Congrats for the wedding!" Akshara smiled widely and Richa pulled her into a hug. "I'm so happy for you and Rohan"

"Thank you!" She grinned widely and Abhimanyu tilted his head at her with a smile as he had already sent her a witty congratulatory text prior. "Now I know this calls for a celebration! And you have to come for the small get together"
