Chapter 6

POV Xie Wuxian

I have to admit I'm excited to go to Gusu, there will be so many people there my age. 

It will be nice to get to know more people my own age. I'm glad Jiang Cheng and Yanli invited me to go with them, it will give me a chance to see what it's like to be on my own. 

I wonder what Gusu is like, if it's anything like Lotus Pier it will be great fun.

I walk through the door of Paradise Manor, I walk to my room and begin to pack up the things I will need for my trip. 

I've got plenty of money, talisman paper just in case I need it, my bow and arrows, my dizi and sword. I put all of it except my sword in my Qiankun bag.

A-Die gave me some butterfly cocoons but I have to cultivate them to get them to hatch, I might have time after classes to do that. 

I add them to my bag and finish packing some of my regular robes. Now that I've packed everything it's time to go find my Baba and A-Die. 

I find them in the main hall talking quietly their heads bowed close to each other, they have done this my whole life so I just barge on in. 

"Baba, A-Die, it's almost time for me to leave for Yunmeng to meet up with Jiang Cheng and Shijie." I smile as I walk in.

They look up at the same time "A-Ying, do you have everything packed and ready to go?" Baba asks me.

I nod "Yes, it's all in here." I pat the Qiankun bag on my hip.

Baba gives me a stern look "What exactly did you pack son?"

I grin "Some wine, a few candied haws, some incense, a tiny ghost spirit..."

Baba rolls his eyes at me and A-Die just chuckles. "I'm being serious A-Ying, I need to know you are packed properly."

I sigh "Baba I put in the things I need, money, talisman paper, my bow and arrows, my dizi, some clothes and the butterfly cocoons A-Die gave me, and I have my sword right here." I hold Suibian up to show him.

He nods approvingly "Good, here take these just in case you need them and you remember how to make a teleportation array right?"

I take the talismans in his hand there are a few higher-level ones and a couple of teleportation ones, and I put them in my bag. "Thank you, Baba, A-Die, don't worry I'm only going to be gone a few months longer than normal, I'll be ok."

They both hug me and I feel A-Die slip something into my robes, I'll check that later since he obviously doesn't want Baba to know I have it.

"Come on let's go now so we can stop at one of the restaurants in Yunmeng and eat before we get my robes and go to Lotus Pier," I tell them trying to keep my Baba from becoming fussy.

They nod and A-Die draws an array, he opens the door and we all walk through to the main entrance to Yunmeng. 

It's a really nice day and there are people out enjoying the day, I've never been here in spring.

 The summers here are hot but the spring is wonderful with mild temperatures and flowering trees are everywhere. 

We make our way to one of my favorite places to eat and take a table near the window that's propped open letting the gentle breeze blow in cooling the interior nicely. 

The waiter comes over and we all make our selections minus the wine, Baba tends to complain if we drink. 

I'm watching the people walking on the street coming and going about their day.
