A waiter comes close and I call him over, "Say friend tell me are there any strange happenings around the area?

He says "I'll tell you if you can drink a jug of our wine, if you are still standing at the end of the jug I'll change my last name to yours, no one has ever been able to walk out of here after drinking an entire jug."

I grin "Deal bring me five jugs." The waiter's eyes get wide and he smiles and nods walking off.

I look at my companions and chuckle "Easy"

Nie Huaisang hides his smile behind his fan, Jiang Cheng just rolls his eyes at me and Lan Zhan sips his tea nonchalantly. A few moments later the waiter comes back and I drink half the jug while he watches.

"Now start talking, what's been going on around here?"

He leans in speaking in a low voice "There are strange sounds that come from the Chang Clan compound, people say that they hear people screaming and the gate door rattling but no one has been able to get into the compound."

I lean in "When did it start?" I asked the waiter.

A large man walks over to us and yells at the waiter to get back to work, I grin "I want five more jugs of wine and this fellow company for a while longer." I say as I slam several silver nuggets on the table. The larger man's eyes light up and he nods and grins "Sure, sure no problem you can have him for as long as you like, I'll be right back with your wine."

The waiter chuckles and puts his arm around my shoulder "I like your style, young master."

Lan Zhan growls looking intently at the waiter who grumbles "He is looking at me like I've tried to steal his wife or so something."

I grin "His husband actually."

I remove his arm from my shoulder and he blushes "Oh, um sorry." He moves further away from me.

I nod "So how long has this been happening at the Chang compound?" I ask again as I finish the jug of wine and start another one.

He clears his throat and glances at Lan Zhan before looking back at me and answers "About two weeks or so. Some say everyone there is dead and we are hearing their ghosts but I've not been there myself so I can't say. If you leave now you can make it there in about thirty minutes and see for yourselves, it only happens at night.

I smile "Great! Hold my wine for me, we will be back, better yet take it to my room, will ya?"

He nods grinning then glances at Lan Zhan again and stops smiling "I will young master don't worry."

Nie Huaisang decides to stay here and wait for us to get back so it is just the three of us heading out the door. I stop and look at the waiter "Oh, by the way, I finished your jug of wine and I'm not only standing but still walking just fine."

The waiter's eyes get wide and round he picks up the empty jug and nods "Wow you can really drink!"

I grin "Didn't you say you'd change your sir name if I did?"

He laughs and nods "I did, I did, what is your last name, young master, I will be proud to call myself after you."

I laugh mischievously "It's Lan"

He bows "Then henceforth I will be known as Lan also."

I look over at Lan Zhan and see his ears redden and I laugh uproariously as I walk out of the inn.
