Chapter 50

Author's POV cont.

Lan Zhan leaning over his husband looks at his closed eyes as Baoshan lays her hand on his forehead. Lan Ying slowly begins to come out of his induced sleep and pouts as he moves around.

Lan Zhan smiles seeing his adorable pouting lips, he whispers "Lan Ying"

Lan Ying crinkles his eyebrows at hearing his husband's voice, he opens his eyes slowly and blinks a few times to clear his vision. His eyes come into focus and sees the most beautiful pair of golden honey eyes and he smiles.

Lan Zhan leans down and kisses his lips causing his smile to widen, it takes a few moments for his mind to register what is happening and his eyes widen, tears springing into them and he wraps his arms tightly around the man in front of him.

He whispers in a relieved sigh "Lan Zhan"

Tears silently roll down his cheeks as he holds tight to his husband, they don't speak they just hold each other. Everyone leaves the room and gives the couple a chance to reconnect after being separated. Lan Zhan cups his husband's face and uses his thumbs to wipe away his tears.

Wey Ying hiccups "I missed you, Lan Zhan, I saw everything that happened to you in my dreams. Are you alright?" he starts checking his husband for injuries.

"I missed you, my Lan Ying, I'm okay most of my injuries have healed completely, but some have left remnants," Wangji says looking at his husband's gorgeous stormy gray eyes filled with concern.

They look over each other and check each other for their own peace of mind. Lan Zhan lays his hand gently over the small baby bump and coos. "You are showing a little, my love."

Lan Ying blushes "I'm not sure how far along I am anymore, I have been a bit out of it and losing my mind without you."

Lan Zhan kisses his lips softly "You were asleep for about three weeks love so you should be ten weeks and now you have a little baby belly." He leans down and kisses his babies.

"Hello, my little ones, Die di missed you and Baba so much," he says while Lan Ying looks lovingly at him stroking his hair as he watches his husband talking to their babies.

He sits back up and pulls Lan Ying into his arms and kisses him deeply, slowly and with all of the love and longing he has been feeling with their separation.

"I love you my Lan Ying and I have missed you so much, you and our children are what kept me going in that dark place." He kisses him again.

Tears spring into Lan Ying's eyes "I know, I was able to see and hear everything while you were there, our daughter kept showing me dreams of you and what was happening. I hated seeing you beaten, whipped and tortured. It broke my heart to watch you suffer so much and not be able to do anything to help you. I love you so much, don't ever leave me again."

They kiss and hold each other promising each other that they will never be apart like that again.

In the other room, another conversation is happening between the four gods that rescued Wangji.

Baoshan frowns "Although the men who were torturing Wangji were caught and we have in custody Wen Xu Chi who has been confined to a detention cell here in the heavenly capital, we haven't found the arrow or most of the items that Jun Wu gave to her. I'm sure she wasn't able to pull all of this off on her own with Jun Wu being imprisoned. She had to have had some sort of help, we need to know where she is keeping everything he gave her and we absolutely have to find that arrow."

Xie Lian nods "Why don't you see if you can access her memories as you do with A-Ying, you might be able to pick up the information we need."

Baoshan nods "I can try, I can access A-Ying's mind because he has never thought to fight me on it, if he were to try and keep me out, he would be able to do it, it just never occurred to him to try. She's an immortal so it might be difficult to get the information out of her."

Hua Cheng sneers "Use that choker that she's so fond of using, it might help to gain access to her mind easier."

Baoshan's lips thin into a line "I don't like those things, but this might be the only way to get access to what we need. I will try to get in without it first and only use it as a last resort. I wouldn't use it at all if this wasn't to keep our babies safe, I won't have my two grandsons and their babies' lives threatened."

Xie Lian nods "Do what you have to, don't forget she had plans to cause chaos in the heavens, if she's working with someone else they might carry out her plans."

Baoshan stands "I'll see what I can do, I'll inform you when I find out anything."

Xie Lian looks at Pei Ming "Step up the security of the capital until we find that arrow, I don't want any surprises and call the council so that we can all discuss what's happened and what needs to be done moving forward. I know that Wangji and A-Ying are planning on staying here for the next year to train and learn how to become rulers and use their god powers. We will have them sit in on the council meetings from now on so that they can get a grasp of how to govern. I want to give them today to be with each other, this has been traumatic for both of them and they need each other right now."

Hua Cheng looks at his husband "Let's get them some food and then leave them alone for a while. I think they need to be able to console each other and I know I want some alone time with you gege."

Xie Lian blushes and nods "Alright, I will inform the staff to make them something and then let them be for a while. I'll do that if you will let the boys know that we are going to be leaving and that food will be brought to them soon."

Hua Cheng nods and heads to the boy's bedroom while Xie Lian walks off in the other direction.

Hua Cheng knocks on the door and hears Wangji's voice bidding him to enter. He walks in and sees his son in his husband's arms, wrapped completely around the other. His heart lurches at the sight of his son clinging so tightly to the one he loves. After witnessing how they are together and how devastated they are when they are apart there is no doubt in his mind that neither of them can survive without the other. That thought is terrifying to him as a father and now soon to be a grandfather. He can't imagine a world without the bright and sunny smile of his little A-Ying, nor does he want to.

He clears his throat getting his emotions under control "Wangji, A-Ying, your Baba is getting the staff to prepare you both something to eat, we are all leaving for now. Please eat and use this time to reconnect. There will be a council meeting soon and your Baba wants both of you to attend. Send a butterfly if you need anything and I will send one letting you know when the meeting will take place. I love you both and I'm so glad to have you both back safe, eat and rest and we will see you soon."

They both nod and thank Hua Cheng before he walks out the door closing it behind him.

Behind closed doors, the two cuddle and kiss waiting for their food to arrive. They feed each other and snuggle together, holding each other tightly until they drift off to sleep in each other's arms.

Somewhere in the mortal realm, livid with the outcome of their plans, a room is destroyed beyond repair. The man bashes and throws everything in the room venting his anger on the inanimate objects while his followers stay far away from his wrath fearing for their lives.

He screams "Bring me every item she has; I want every single item here in front of me immediately. If even one thing is missing, you all die. Our plans are still in effect, and we will be victorious against those pompous gods. We will rain down chaos and take over the heavens, killing every single one of them until none remain."

His followers scramble to do his bidding hoping they can find everything he is asking for so they don't forfeit their lives.

He smiles as each item is placed in front of him, multiple people have come in bringing him what he asked for, and the last item makes him smile wider with a hint of malice.

"Let chaos reign." He laughs as he picks up a golden arrow and looks longingly at the sharp tip of the god-killer.
