Lan Zhan and I practice walking and running at stunted speeds until we feel confident that we can both do so without thinking about it. Both of my fathers come and watch us before finally halting us.

Baba nods grinning "Excellent work you two, I know you are both very tired since you started last night but the more tired you become the more sluggish your body becomes and makes training your mind and body easier. Now that you have the walking and running down you need to spar so that you can properly fight at the appropriate speed as well. Come have something to eat and drink and then we will spar together alright?"

We both nod dragging our feet and grab the bowls of rice and fish and the cups of tea and down everything quickly. Once our bodies are rejuvenated Baba walks over and wields his sword deftly.

I look over and say "Lan Zhan, be mindful of who we are going to spar with, he is the greatest swordsman in the heavenly realm. Keep on your toes and be ready for anything."

I hear A-Die chuckle somewhat menacingly at my words and I watch Baba begin to move strategically while keeping his grip loose on the hilt of his sword. Lan Zhan and I have never really fought together, just a bit of roof sparing so we have yet to learn how to fight together. Baba begins to thrust and advance, and we both move out wider away from each other to split his attention.

He pivots on the balls of his feet and smacks my ass with the flat of his sword, I tried to step back but I was not fast enough and now I'm rubbing my stinging posterior. Baba's movements look like a beautiful lethal dance as he swirls his blade around and strikes Lan Zhan in the same place. I recover and use the movements he taught me but I move too fast and over-calculate and get smacked with the flat of his blade again. I can hear A-Die laughing uproariously as both of us get our asses beat literally.

Baba puts up his hand after more than an hour "A-Ying, Wangji you both are doing well but you must be mindful of your speed, you should also practice working, fighting and moving together instead of trying to separate the attacks coming at you. I am only one opponent but that will rarely be the case in the mortal world. You are connected and merged, you need to learn to be one, each of you an extension of the other. We will continue to practice for the next several days and I encourage you both to work on your speed, watch your movements and keep yourselves in check. You have the advantage over them but that doesn't mean you should take advantage of it. Fight with honor, integrity and respect for those weaker than you, you are gods and as such need to remember that those in the mortal world are much more fragile than you are."

"Yes Baba, we will, thank you for the lesson today." I bow.

"Mn, we will Ba thank you for your instruction, wisdom and incredible sword skills." Lan Zhan bows obviously impressed with Baba's swordsmanship.

Baba nods "Come let's go back, you need to clean up and rest."

We walk back to his palace Xianle, the sun glints off the elegant red glass walls and casts a crimson hue over the entire entryway and sitting room. A-Die's red clothes become a deeper almost sinister color and Baba's white robes become a beautiful blush color which suits him nicely. We wave to my fathers and head back to our room, I give Lan Zhan the first bath while I pull out night clothes for us. He comes out with a drying cloth wrapped low around his hips and another in his hands drying the ends of his near waist-length hair. His chest is still covered in a fine sheen of water, I lick my lips wanting to run them over his moistened chest. His glistening abs are tempting me to run my fingers over each dip and curve of defined muscle and run my tongue over them just to feel them flex under my touch. I swallow hard mesmerized and my brain stops working I mumble "Beautiful, so beautiful."
