After an accident, Imara, a 28-year-old plus-size black woman, ends up in a strange rainforest world from a bittersweet novel she read. This wild jungle is full of mysterious and dangerous beastmen, just like the stories she used to read.

Entering the castle, we stepped into a well-built, four-story structure that felt both sturdy and elegant. The air was filled with the smell of fresh furs and earthy plants, giving the place a wild, natural charm. Furs covered the floors, and simple wooden tables with carvings sat along the walls, surrounded by greenery that made the interior feel like a lush forest.
There was a quietness here, broken only by soft footsteps and distant voices. Branching off the main hallway, numerous rooms added to the castle's sense of calm and mystery.
As we continued down the hall, we arrived at a richly decorated room where Queen Memi sat. She wore an off-the-shoulder lavender fur dress that draped gracefully around her. I wondered how she got that color or if it was some exotic animal keen just for this world?
Surrounding her were four mates, each attending to her with quiet dedication—one massaged her feet, another fanned her, a third fed her fruit, and the fourth gently rubbed her shoulders. Their stripes, showing their ranks, marked them as strong, skilled beastmen.
Queen Memi herself is beautiful. Her fair skin and graceful features gave her a timeless beauty, with straight blonde hair cascading down her back. Small but full lips, she was so feminine in her walk and in every way about her—I loved that. Her warm, fuchsia pink eyes are something I have never seen in person before, but they match her well and fit quite normally, they held quite the strength.
The guards announced us, breaking the calm of the room with a sudden urgency. Their voices echoed through the hall, pulling everyone's attention to the news they carried.

The guard's voice cut through the quiet like a blade. "Queen Memi, it's urgent! Parker—our young lord—is hurt. A feral beastman attacked him, and his mate was taken!"
Queen Memi POV
My heart froze. My cub? My voice shook as the words left my mouth, filled with worry I could barely hold back. My mind raced with memories of all the times I had told Parker to stay safe, to be careful. But this—this was my fear that came to life, one I had always tried to keep far from my thoughts.
I surged forward, my mates close by my side. I had to see him, to see Parker. Nothing else mattered but reaching him.
The guards lowered him gently in front of me, giving me a full view of his face, a deep bruise at his side and his face scratched up. I felt my skin go cold as I looked at my boy. "Oh no... my boy!" My cry broke through the room, a deep ache in my chest that I could not keep silent.
Then my eyes fell on the female mate less briefly and a leopard male. Who was she, and why had they brought Parker here?
"Speak. What happened?" I demanded, my voice hard but edged with anxiety. "How did he get so hurt? Why does he still not wake?"
My gaze narrowed on the leopard male. Yes, I knew him—Harvey, the doctor from Camel Hump Valley. But why was he here? And this female...what did she want?
