Returning to where Muirmore and Bai were, I casually suggested, "Do you mind showing him how to prep and cook some of the food? He's eager to learn about cooking and providing for a female he's interested in."

I gave Muirmore a playful wink, which seemed to catch him completely off guard. His face flushed instantly, a mix of surprise and embarrassment spreading across his features.

I couldn't help but laugh. The sight of his flustered expression was too funny to ignore.

Bai, always eager to help and blissfully unaware of the tension between the guys, readily agreed. "Oh, that's so nice! I'd love to help you learn. Food really is the way to someone's heart, isn't it? I wish you all the luck!"

As Bai spoke, Muirmore's expression wavered between happiness and distress. Her cheerful words only seemed to deepen his discomfort, which made the whole situation even more amusing.

Giving Muirmore a sympathetic pat on the shoulder, I chuckled. "Good luck, Muirmore. You're going to need it," I teased lightly before stepping back to let Bai lead him toward the pond.

Bai's voice was full of enthusiasm as she explained their fishing method. "We use these fish baskets, but we also catch the fish directly and place them in the basket. It's much quicker, especially with so many of us here."

As they got closer to the pond, Parker showed up, storming over like he was ready to fight. He stopped right in front of Muirmore, glaring at him like he was daring him to make a move.

I stayed back, watching to see how this would play out. Parker clearly hadn't gotten over earlier, and I was ready to step in if he pushed things too far.

The air grew tense as the two squared off, their eyes locked in a silent battle of wills. Bai, in her usual oblivious way, kept talking about fishing, her cheerful energy a stark contrast to the thick tension radiating between the two males.

Bai, noticing the awkward silence, finally turned back. Her bright smile faded slightly as she took in the scene.

"Parker, stop being mean," she said, stepping between them with a frown. "Muirmore just wants help cooking for a female he's interested in—not me."

She looked directly at Parker, her tone softening. "Besides, I was hoping you'd help teach him. You're a better cook than I am, and I can help explain the process."

Both Parker and Muirmore deflated a bit at Bai's words. It was clear that Parker wasn't too thrilled about teaching Muir, and for Muirmore, Bai clarifying that his interest was in another female seemed to be a subtle blow.

The tension that had been building up was now replaced by a mix of resignation and reluctance in their postures.

I couldn't help but let out a suppressed laugh, "Pfft!" The dynamics unfolding before me were just too amusing.

Parker, holding onto his pettiness, jabbed a finger at Muirmore and declared, "Fine, I'll teach you. But you'll never be as good a cook as me. Tuh! My Bai loves my cooking the most. Let's go, short bird!" With a huff, he turned and strutted toward the pond like he owned it.

Bai groaned, slapping her forehead as she watched Parker's retreating figure. "Parker!" she called, her tone half exasperated, half amused. She turned to Muirmore, offering an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry. Don't mind him; he's just being... Parker."

The dynamic between the three was a mix of chaos and comedy. Bai's sweet nature, Parker's loud personality, and Muirmore's quieter demeanor made for an entertaining combination.

As the guys busied themselves building the volleyball setup and prepping food, I found a shady spot under the tree to relax. It was peaceful watching everyone, a rare moment of calm amidst the activity.
