warning- slight panic attack trigger.
-
The crashing sound of the plate against the floor causes Iman to freeze and gulp down some of her anxiety, fixing eye contact with Linda and assessing her from head to toe. Something about Linda is odd but pitiful, especially with her shaky movements. Iman steps back, recovering alertness and hurrying back to the anxious man behind them.
"H-Harry! Gosh, are you okay?" Iman forces her words out, kneeling down to pick up the halves of the ceramic plate.
He steps back, shutting his eyes and trying to take in a deep breath.
Linda attempts to step into the apartment but Iman shuts her a warning glare.
"Step in only when he says you can, please!" Iman blurts out, releasing a shaky breath and standing properly.
"I'm sorry for-for this, I did not mean to scare anyone." Linda says, shakily.
It feels confusing and everyone seems to be panicked for no reason. Iman takes a deep breath, placing the halves in the bin and deciding to play the bigger person in this triangle of confusion. There is clear fear hovering across Linda, and Iman does not understand why someone who appears strong and fierce would be so frail in actions.
"Harry, are you okay?" Iman asks, walking back to him.
"Y-Yes! Linda...Linda is here!" he groans, frowning and pointing towards the other woman.
"Hello Harry," Linda mumbles, rubbing the back of her neck and looking away.
"Oh gosh...gosh why?" Harry groans again, rubbing his palms together.
"I want to talk to you please Harry. I need to talk to you, please don't hate me," Linda croaks, sniffing and keeping her eyes away from him.
Iman flares her nostrils, staring at Linda and looking back at Harry. This feels like a time for her to be protective and concerned, but this is the mother of his child and she does not know how close they once were before going separate ways. It might be intrusive to say something, and it might be right but she cannot say right now.
"He is just anxious, please understand that." Iman points out, calmly.
"Y-Yeah understandable, sorry for not remembering, sorry." Linda repeatedly nods, biting down her lip.
"Do you need some water?" Iman frowns, staring at Linda.
"Nope!" she answers with a shaky squeak.
"Harry, I would let you guys talk for a bit," Iman sighs, rubbing her temple.
"No." Harry says, coldly.
"I am sorry please! I am sorry," Linda tries not to start panicking around him.
"Linda, if you keep panicking it will not make him feel better, please." Iman says, trying to be considerate seeing as Linda is not that stable.
"I keep messing up, I am sorry already!" Linda groans out, rubbing her palms and taking a deep breath.
"Harry babe," Iman sighs, cupping his face. "Stay calm for me will you? I am in Myra's room, and if you feel uncomfortable just call for me, okay?"
