It has to wait. There is no possible way Iman would endure a date with Chad, knowing Harry has wandered off in an unhappy state.
“What happened?” Chad asks, dragging his eyebrows in concern.
“I don’t know, Niall just said he wandered off upset, and I don’t know Chad,” she sighs, running a hand down her face and biting down her lip.
Anxious thoughts are pumping through her veins and speeding fast through her mind. All the possibly negative thoughts have framed themselves up in a large picture set up in her head, and she is trying hard to stay calm. A ton of similar stories always end up as headlines, vulnerable people wandering off and often ending up missing in tragic scenarios.
The thoughts start pooling up, and Iman in unconsciously shrinking in front of Chad. He is staring at her, trying to understand how he can help, or rather, if he can help. This is probably his first time getting involved in something as crucial as this, and he feels it is his time to prove he is not that much of a douchebag to Iman.
“Okay, let’s go find him then,” he murmurs, instantly regretting the words rolling off his tongue.
Iman pauses, and looks up at him. “This is not the right time to be sarcastic or funny, please.”
“Great, because I am being serious,” he counters, allowing a tempting smile crack at the corners of his mouth.
“Okay, do we just storm the streets and wander off as well? I don’t even know places he might be right now, his flat is out of it and Niall confirmed the library is out of it,” she releases a shaky breath, pinching on the tip of her nose and looking away.
“Fine, we could search around those places, he is somewhere, and maybe the dude just needed to chill out without hearing the thoughts of everyone else you know.” Chad shrugs, not wanting to be offensive but also saying his direct thought.
“I know, but for his family to be worried, it means something really pissed him off, and I have never imagined Harry as someone that can get pissed off,” Iman drops her voice at the last words, slowly shifting her feet against the floor and staying helpless.
“We could check that little park not far from the library, it helps when you want to escape a bit,” he suggests, scratching the side of his neck and looking away from her.
Iman looks at him and quirks up an inquiring eyebrow. “There is a little park not far from the library? What the heck, I have never noticed it before,”
“Yeah, not many people actually know it’s always open and stuff,” he lightly shrugs.
“Well, that can make little sense since the library is not that far from his mother’s house and he probably needed a sense of familiarity,” Iman says, nodding her head along to her words and having a little insight in what has been suggested by Chad.
“What are we waiting for?” she asks, hurriedly walking back into the living room to see Daya deeply engrossed in her show.
“Is everything alright?” Daya asks, fixing her eyes on the screen.
“Yeah, nothing to worry about, don’t open for anyone except mum please and call if you need anything,” Iman orders, pressing a kiss to her head and strolling to the foyer with Chad.
“See you Daya,” he flashes a smile at her, with no hopes of a response.
“Okay,” is all he gets, but still better than nothing.
