For a moment, he blinks and brings his shaky legs closer to himself, safely tucked under his father's once favourite blanket, fisting on the extra soft wool material and sucking on his left thumb with a shaky hum. Dark brown curls hanging down his pale face, icy grey eyes with no single emotion and plump baby pink lips. The sofa is warm enough but his bowl of almonds are finished and he is too comfortable to ask for more.
Another round of laughing girls echoes down the hall, from the kitchen and he cracks a small smile to himself and wishes he could join in their conversation, but this is comfortable enough. Footsteps sound closer to him and he immediately tightens his fragile pink fists around the blanket, blinking in defensive and hoping nobody is going to disturb him.
"Hey Ryan,"
The sweet tender voice of his mother eases him almost immediately but he doesn't move, and he snuggles his cheek against his comforting pillow. She doesn't bother touching him and just stands in front of him, smiling and admiring her precious eighteen years old boy. He is tall, just like his father and extremely special at heart, again, just like his father.
Sometimes he has a striking resemblance with his father, but most of time he looks more like his mother and everyone sees that because of their undying bond. He doesn't speak, at least not yet, but a few words can be groaned or slurred out. His best friend is his twin sister, after his mother and he tends to love hanging around his father, especially during cozy Sundays.
"Mum, Neesa cussed at me!" a high pitched voice calls from the kitchen.
It makes Ryan flinch a little, looking around and immediately curling up closer to himself, he keeps sucking on his thumb and frowning. He knows his sisters are bound to fight, every single time the whole family comes together, there's bound to be a fight. He is getting to use to it and he now understands it's pure family banter and nothing more.
"Myra made your favourite soup, ready to try some?" his mother asks, calmly.
Ryan doesn't know whether or not he's hungry, so he silently ignores the question and reaches a hand to his mother, indicating he wants to be cuddled for some time. His father is upstairs, still sorting out is outfit and getting ready for the lovely dinner with his family. And Ryan has his wish granted, his mother settles next to him and he immediately hugs her close.
"I love you so much sweet boy," Iman smiles, pressing a kiss to her son's head.

In the kitchen, three girls are busy with various activities and it is a toxic clash of ego, anger, knowing it all and brains. Myra is in charge of arrange the main dishes cooked by Iman, pastel pink hair plaited in a milkmaid braid and wearing a long sleeveless Aztec print jumpsuit. Aneesa is in charge of desserts, insisting on baking the cupcakes and handling the frosting with her professional knowledge, hair exactly like that of her mother has been plaited six lines back and wearing an oversized t-shirt and shorts.
"Olivia, I'm warning you." Myra warns, sternly.
Olivia, the youngest of the girls and not really in charge of anything, loosely curled hair like her father and chocolate brown skin, wearing a simple tank top and jeans. Ryan's twin and basically the present loudest speaker in the Styles household. She is ever speaking or singing around the house, either trying to get on her brother's nerve or just get attention, for example, getting a piercing and tattoo on her recent birthday.
