Happy Birthday Lou-Lou !
Harry gently walks across the dining space, holding a plastic pink bowl of mashed potatoes and peas in his hands and an olive green sippy cup containing apple juice. Aneesa does a little dance, watching her dad bring her meal and drink. He places the bowl and cup right in front of her, and gently collects the cool blue sensory toy that belongs to him, which Aneesa refuses to believe it doesn't belong to her.
"Thank...you," Harry says, signing as well to her.
Aidan watches him place it on the table, and he slowly sneaks to collect it. He assumes Harry is not watching him, and he hands it over to Aneesa with a victorious smile. Harry frowns, really wondering if Aidan has either blurred him out or he has suddenly become invisible. He clears his throat, and Aidan rolls his eyes.
"Why?" Harry asks, softly.
"Is...is cute," Aidan shrugs.
"Sensory toy.... that is...is mine," Harry tries to explain, collecting the toy again.
"Not...not a baby," Aidan replies.
Harry gives him a really look, because it is a bloody sensory toy and him of all human beings would understand how much Harry needs it. Aidan drops his eyes down, tapping his feet against the floor, and Harry just shakes his head. He takes a seat right next to Aneesa's high chair, keeping his eyes on his daughter's bowl of food and drifting back to the feet of Aidan.
The tapping sound is uncomfortable, and starting to irritate him.
"Please...please stop?" Harry mumbles.
"No. Need.... need it," Aidan frowns.
Harry groans in discomfort and decides to focus on wrapping up the conversation with Aidan.
"The list is...is fine, no?" Harry states.
"Lou not...not like ch-cherries," Aidan states, proudly.
"Not...not right. Lou does...does not like cherries," Harry corrects, calmly.
Aidan frowns in a "ugh not you too" way, and shakes his head. He picks up the list, stares at it, crosses out a few things with his pen and hands it over to Harry. Since everyone wants to be on his case for not being perfect with speech, he would simply keep writing or signing or just making noise to annoy them all.
"Lots...Lots of sex," Harry widens his eyes, realising Aneesa is there.
"Yes...yes," Aidan nods in agreement, oblivious. "Lou...Lou likes...lots of –"
"Shh! My...my baby is here," Harry points at her.
Aneesa giggles, enjoying her meal.
"Uh...made...made by sex, no?" Aidan frowns.
"Yes...but shh," Harry frowns.
Aidan blinks, wondering why Harry is being such an old man and all about being polite and whatever. He shrugs, collecting his treasured list for his boyfriend's birthday, and holds it close. Aneesa coos at him, glancing at him and her father at the same time. Harry sighs, and tries to make it through this conversation without Aidan losing his patience.
"I...need...to...to make it...uh special for...for Lou," Aidan manages to say.
Harry smiles at his effort.
"Yes...yes but no stress too," Harry replies.
"Uh...everything is...stress for Aidan," Aidan giggles, pointing at himself.
