Backstory: Kicked out of the police academy due to cheating, Tani Rey was a lifeguard when Steve asked her to go undercover to assist Five-0 on a case. She originally turned him down. However, she later changed her mind and eventually became an officer on the Five-0 Task Force.

When first heard that the Five-0 is working with Ian Prince/Infinitus Prime, Tani was shocked at first. As it turned out, like Kono, Tani is a fan of Ian's work cause she knows about what he did in Chicago. And they developed a big brother and little sister bond. As for Koa, Ian would provide him the best help he could find in order for Koa to be sober and legit. They first met during Operation FREEDOM OF SENTIENCE, and they quickly bonded. After the operation, Ian offered her the position in Task Force 'The Disciples' with the added bonus of her brother going legit, and she accepted.
