"Come on, we need to hurry to get to UA," a hero exclaimed as they guided citizens to safety.

A girl who was just about to start her second year of high school was at the back of the pack, holding her coat close to her as the rain pounded against her body. But then, a sickening chuckle rang out through the streets. "UA, huh?"

The girl looked up to see a man with spiky, dark blue hair and violet eyes staring at them maliciously. "Running away to safety, even though they couldn't protect you to begin with?" he sneered as a sharp spike shot from his hand and struck the hero in his chest.

The civilians began to scream and run away from the scene as the hero crumpled to the ground, although the girl couldn't bring herself to move and run away with the other civilians. "Don't worry, he's not dead... yet. My quirk just gave him a small paralytic," the villain said as he approached.

Fear coursed through the girl's heart as she watched the villain move toward the hero, a knife in his hand. However, when the villain moved to strike the hero, his blade was stopped. He and the girl watched in confusion as the knife began to glow bright blue before it was flung from his hand. "So you make people defenseless before going in for the kill, huh?" a new, feminine voice asked as pink smoke filled the area. The villain fell asleep quite quickly after that, and as the smoke reached the girl and the need for sleep consumed her body, she saw a dark figure in a ragged cape approaching her.

"I get that, but there's no way that he was associated with AFO. I'm sure he was just some petty criminal," the feminine voice stated as the girl began to wake up.

"Alright. How's Deku? I know you are in contact with him," the figure asked as the girl opened her eyes enough to see that the figure was on the phone and that they were in an abandoned house.

"Fine. I'll talk to you later, Hawks," the figure said as she ended the call and sighed.

'Hawks?' the girl thought to herself as she was going to get up, but the figure then said, "I know I should take her to UA, but not while she's asleep. I'm not going inside with her and I'm not leaving her vulnerable outside the gates."

Silence for a moment before she once again said, "You're the one who put her to sleep in the first place, Midnight. I get that your quirk is harder to control now, but you're the reason we are in this predicament."

The girl pretended to once again be asleep, cursing internally that she was stuck with a crazy person who talked to herself. However, the figure then asked, "You awake, Ishida?"

The girl's eyes bolted open as she sat up. "How do you know my name?!" she asked.

The figure turned around and Ishida was able to get a good look at the hero. She was about her age, except her short hair was pitch black and was mostly covered by the hood of her blue/black cape, her eyes were a dull, pale blue, she was covered with dirt, and she seemed exhausted. But most importantly, she seemed familiar to Ishida. "We went to school together up until high school," the hero stated as she grabbed a canteen out of her bag and opened it, "Here, you must be thirsty."

Ishida cautiously took the canteen, sniffed it and took a very slow, small sip, but was relieved to find that it was just water. "You're familiar, but I'm not exactly sure," Ishida admitted while she thought about it.

The hero shrugged and muttered, "Well, I guess the old saying is true. The axe forgets, but the tree remembers."

Ishida frowned as the hero grabbed her things and said, "Regardless, now that you're awake, we should get you to UA. You'll be safer there."
