Chapter 46: The Last Meal

When Aiko got back to the dorms, she was still looking incredibly weak and sickly, a migraine pounding in her head from the experience at Tartarus Prison. She hoped that she would be able to slip in and secretly grab some dinner to eat in her dorm so that people wouldn't be fretting over how she looked. 

Instead, when Aiko entered the dorm, she was faced with the entirety of her class watching a movie together on the sofa, and their eyes all snapped to her when she opened the door. "Ah Gessei, welc-" Iida started, only to be interrupted by Mina shooting out of her seat.

"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?! It's almost 10 o'clock!" Mina whined as she approached as Aiko flinched, the migraine pounding even worse.

Then, however, when Mina got a good, close look at Aiko, she gasped and grabbed her face. "OH MY GOD WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?! I SWEAR IF ANYONE TOUCHED MY BABY I WILL KILL THEM!!!" Mina exclaimed, inadvertently causing Aiko's migraine to worsen.

Mina's outburst caused Iida to pause the movie and for everyone to rush over and fuss over Aiko. "What happened to you?" 

"She looks sick!"

"She looks like she's going to pass out!"

"She's so pale!"

"She's always pale, stupid extras!" Bakugo yelled as he worked his way through the crowd, but the second his eyes landed on Aiko and the poor state she was in, he snapped and yelled, "WHAT THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN DOING?! YOU LOOK LIKE SHIT, YOU DUMB GHOST FACE!"

Aiko flinched and whispered, "I was helping Aizawa with something..."

"SIT YOUR ASS DOWN RIGHT NOW!" Bakugo shouted as he grabbed Aiko's wrist and pulled her into the living room, shoving her on the couch.

"I'll make some tea!" Momo said as she rushed into the kitchen.

"Have you ate?" Kirishima asked.

Aiko shook her head, prompting Bakugo and most of the others to storm into the kitchen. "I'm fine, really. I just need to rest for a little bit," Aiko dismissed as she tried to get up.

However, Kirishima then pushed her down as Todoroki walked into the room. "I heard shouting, is everything okay?" he asked.

"No, Gessei looks really sick. I think she overworked herself while helping Aizawa today," Midoriya explained.

This caused Todoroki's eyes to narrow and he picked up the pace in approaching the group. When his eyes landed on Aiko, a slight frown graced his face. "What were you helping Aizawa with?" he asked as he rushed over and sat beside her.

"Um... I'm not really allowed to say," she stated quietly, her mind so dead tired and in pain that she couldn't think of an excuse.

Midoriya and Todoroki made eye contact for a moment before looking down at Aiko. "Can we get you anything?" Midoriya asked.

Aiko shivered and said, "A blanket would be nice. I'm really cold..."

"No need," Todoroki stated as he sat down next to her and slightly activated his quirk, ensuring his left side was closest to her. 

Aiko almost instantly leaned into the warmth, leaning her head on Todoroki's shoulder, finally at peace. Ever since the incident, echoing through her mind, she couldn't stop recalling the horrifying voice of All For One overpowering her mind and body. It made her insides crawl, and she could still recall what the feeling was like. Despite that, she was now able to relax, her mind finally silencing as she did.

From outside the dorm, Aizawa could hear his students fussing about Aiko. Despite the lingering feeling of loss and sadness that he felt due to reopening the gaping wound that Shirakumo left behind, he couldn't help but feel proud of his students and their protective nature over their fellow peers. He just hoped that they would never have to feel the pain that he felt all those years ago...
