It was late at night and Lyn was sitting in the back of a car she knew well, the rolling clouds blocked the stars from view in an ominous manner. Lyn laughed lightly, "Come on dad, vampire's are not real, no matter how much I want them to be." Wait Dad? Her dad was dead. It was then that she realized she was dreaming.
"I'm not joking, sweetheart. They're real, and they're coming." Lyn noticed the grave tone in her dream father's voice. He sounded so serious, but then again, this was a dream. Lyn could only nod, her throat constricted as she knew the scene that was about to play all too well. She didn't scream as the car hit the water or as it began to fill the car. It was only when her father spoke that she realized that tears were tracking down her cheeks. "How could you let us die?"
"I-I didn't mean to," Lyn choked out. She then noticed she was no longer in the car; she was watching it sink to the bottom of the ocean -wait, ocean- that didn't sound right, the car had gone over into the lake, not the ocean.
Lyn shot up out of bed with a gasp, salty tears tracking down her face. She shook her head and moved to get into the shower, yearning for her escape from the crushing guilt she was feeling. Trudging in to the bathroom Lyn shrugged off her pajamas and slid into the shower. She allowed herself to be lost in the burning water, to distract herself with the scrub running up and down her body as if she could simply clean the feelings off. But she could not. And for her own health she had to turn the water off and get dressed. She chose a purple button up shirt with a leather jacket and jeans.

The sizzle of bacon filled the room with a delicious feeling. Sliding the bacon off the skillet and onto four separate plates Lyn started on the scrambled eggs. She loved to cook and didn't do it often enough, but she knew the cooking this morning was just a distraction. She was desprate to think about anything but her dream.
"Hey," Lyn said as Jenna descended the stairs. Jenna smiled before she noticed the premade food.
"You didn't have to do that." She insisted, sitting down to eat nonetheless.
"It was really no problem," Lyn assured her as she bit into her own bacon. "Can you turn on the locan news?" she asked. Jenna nodded as she finished inhaling her food and turned to the TV. She held the remote in her hand and scowled when the face of Logan Fell turned up on her screen. Elena walked up to the counter then grabbing the food and smiling gratefully at her sister.
"Scum ball." Jenna directed at the television. "Scum bucket."
"Who are you talking to?" Elena asked from her seat at the table.
"Him." Jenna said, motioning to the TV as if it was obvious.
"The news guy?" Lyn questioned.
"Also known as Logan 'scum' Fell." She paused for a minute before continuing on with her rant. "Did your mom ever tell you why I moved away from Mystic Falls?" Lyn chuckled a little.
