Lyn hummed in pleasure and burrowed deeper into her bed. She was in a state between sleep and the waking world, and she loved it. It had been so long since she had gotten a good night of sleep, and she didn't want it to end. But alas, we don't always get what we want. She was pulled from her bliss by her sister shaking her shoulders. "No... go away." She whined, but she began to blink her eyes open anyway. Elena was standing over her with a confused expression. "What?" She asked.
"Stefan called. He needs us at the boarding house." Lyn groaned and pulled the blankets off of her body.
When she entered the hallway, where her sister was waiting for her, she was changed and showered. Elena looked at her quizzically, trying to determine something. "What's with the look?" Lyn asked, making her way down the stairs.
"It's just, you look different." Elena told her.
"Good different or bad different?" She questioned.
"Good. Definitely good." Elena confirmed.
"I guess that's reasonable seeing as I got a good night's sleep for the first time ever." Elena chuckled at the hyperbole and followed her sister out of the house and into the car. Lyn hopped into the passenger seat, and turned on the radio. The crackling sound of 'You Belong With Me by Taylor Swift' filtered through the speakers.
"Not this again," Elena complained.
"Come on! It's Taylor Swift!" Lyn pushed. She turned up the volume as Elena pulled out of the driveway.
"You're ridiculous," Elena told her.
"You love me." Lyn shot back.
"You're my twin. I'm genetically obligated to love you." Elena reasoned.
"Ouch!" Lyn exclaimed. "Rip out my heart, why don't you?" The girls both looked at each other for a moment before they were overtaken with laughter.
Elena smiled at the look her sister was wearing. It was one she hadn't seen in a long time. So, for that reason only, she let Lyn listen to Taylor Swift and sing her heart out in her horribly off-key voice. They eventually had to turn off the music when they pulled into the Salvatore boarding house. Elena walked up and knocked on the door. Damon opened the door with a small smile upon sight of them.
"Hello, Elena." He greeted before he realized that Lyn was there too. "Spite-y." He inclined his head in acknowledgement.
"Is Stefan here?" Elena asked. "He called. Said it was important." Damon swung the door open wider.
"Right this way." He motioned. The two girls stepped over the doorway and walked further into the house.
"Hey," Stefan said, coming over to meet them.
"What is this about?" Elena asked, the awkwardness still there. Stefan stepped aside slightly and turned to look behind him. Rose walked out of the hallway and revealed herself to them. "You."
