Lyn walked across the front lawn of the Lockwood house, side by side with her sister

Lyn walked across the front lawn of the Lockwood house, side by side with her sister. Elena was carrying a box of glasses for the upcoming masquerade. "You know, I think Jenna heard you and Stefan having playtime this morning," Lyn mentioned, wiggling her eyebrows at Elena. Elena whipped her head towards her sister, an embarrassed blush coating her cheeks. She went to say something, but the sight of Bonnie walking in the yard made her comment die in her throat.

"You're here," Elena commented.

"I'm here," Bonnie confirmed. Bonnie's eyes trailed the lawn as she looked for someone or lack thereof.

"Caroline's not coming. I told you." Elena reminded her

"Just making sure." Lyn didn't even try to resist the urge to roll her eyes. She loved Bonnie, really, she did, but this attitude and prejudice toward the vampires wasn't doing anyone any good. It was hurting Bonnie as much as it was Caroline.

"You know, eventually, you're gonna have to talk to her." Elena pointed out.

"Could you make it a little less obvious you're on her side?" Bonnie questioned. Lyn practically banged a candle onto the table in frustration. She couldn't comprehend what was going through Bonnie's brain right now. She was ignoring one of her closest friends since childhood simply because an unprecedented traumatic event had changed her. Elena calmly placed a hand over her sister's, both in an attempt to soothe her and to stop her from lashing out anymore.

"There are no sides, Bonnie," Elena said, somehow maintaining the composure Lyn was rapidly losing.

"Come on! Since Caroline became a vampire, we barely see each other. Losing Caroline was bad enough; I didn't think I would lose you two as well." Lyn yanked her wrist out of Elena's grasp.

"But that's the thing, Bonnie," Lyn replied bitterly. "You didn't lose Caroline. You let her go. You let her go when she needed you most. So don't preach about losing her when you chose this." Both Bonnie and Elena looked taken aback at Lyn's outburst.

Lyn didn't stick around for their responses, simply picking up another box and walking away.

"Are you just gonna sit there angrily, or are you gonna be useful?" Tyler snipped playfully. Lyn sneered at him, and he put his hands up in surrender.

After storming away from Elena and Bonnie, Lyn had wandered the grounds aimlessly. That was until she had seen Mrs. Lockwood walking around with her clipboard in hand and her mouth pressed into a firm, disapproving line. After that, she quickly retreated to help Tyler and Matt. "Ugh!" Lyn groaned but rose to help them decorate anyway.

"What's got you in a mood, anyway?" Tyler asked.

"Nothing," She muttered. Tyler gave her a look. "Just drama."

"Well, we are experts at drama," Matt told her sarcastically.

"Caroline?" Tyler assumed. Matt nodded.
