Lyn gingerly rose from her bed just as the morning light began to seep in through the curtains. She peered into Elena's room as she made her way downstairs. She was happy to find her sister was not there, last she heard, Elena had driven Stefan home, and she could only assume what happened from there.

The kitchen stove lit as Lyn cracked an egg over a pan. She smiled lightly as her mind flashed back to the remnants of the dream she had last night. Lyn hadn't gotten more than two hours of sleep, and for the first time in a long time, she regretted not sleeping more. Usually, when Lyn slept, she was plagued with nightmares. This had been a constant even before her parent's untimely death.

She didn't know what to make of the dream she had that night. There wasn't much to it, the feel of a silk suit between her fingertips, the smell of old books, the skin beneath her body enveloping her in a comforting warmth. She couldn't explain the feelings this dream had brought forth, but she knew that it felt like home. "Hey," She heard Jenna speak as she entered the kitchen.

"Hey." Lyn grinned.

"You're smiley," Jenna commented as she stabbed the egg on the plate her niece had set out for her. They had gotten into somewhat of a routine with cooking. Jenna couldn't cook to save her life, and besides being an amazing cook, Lyn was always being the first one up, so she would cook breakfast and dinner for the family. And then, as compensation, at the end of the week, Jenna would either take Lyn to the bookstore or Lyn would trade that experience for a get-out-of-punishment-free card. Lyn wasn't one to get in trouble much, but she would never pass up the opportunity to be prepared.

"Okay, can I tell you something weird?" She asked her aunt.

"Always. Hit me."

"I think I had a sex dream." She sheepishly admitted as she slid her egg onto her plate. Jenna's mouth dropped wide open in shock.

"Who are you, and what have you done with Emalyn Gilbert." She asked, smirking.

"Oh, shut up," Lyn bantered playfully.

"So, who was it?" Jenna interrogated with a shit-eating grin on her face.

"That's the weird thing, I don't know." Footsteps were heard to be approaching as Jeremy entered the room. He immediately grabbed the plate that was set out for him and began to shove the food into his mouth. Jenna chuckled a little at the sight, and Lyn only shot him an unimpressed look.

"You would all starve without me." She stated, only half joking. Jeremy looked up from where he was inhaling his food and smiled at his sister.

"And that is why we are so thankful to have you." Jenna chirped. Lyn rolled her eyes fondly as she began to eat away at her own food.

"Hey, Jer, do you need a ride to school today?" Lyn asked after they had all finished their breakfasts and the two teenagers were packing their bags for school.
