Lyn's eyes traced the documents in front of her and Elena, just to make sure she wasn't signing her soul away to the devil or anything. "Please sign here and here," the lawyer instructed, holding out a pen to each of the twins. Taking the pen, Lyn filled out her portion and handed it to the lawyer.

"So this place is all yours?" Bonnie asked from across the table. "They just gave it to both of you?"

"For now," Elena confirmed.

"As the sole owners, we're the only ones who can invite a certain type of person in here, if you know what I mean," Lyn told her, rising up from the table to walk the lawyer out.

"Your own personal safe house,"

"That's the idea," Elena agreed.

"Wouldn't want to clean it," Bonnie commented, eliciting a laugh from Elena.

"Why do you think we're even letting the boys in?" Lyn asked with a smirk. She made her way over to the door and opened it for the lawyer. "Thank you, Mr. Henry," Lyn shook his hand and allowed him to exit the house before she turned to the Salvatores.

They both made their way to cross over the threshold, but were stopped by an invisible barrier. Lyn smiled at the sight as Elena walked up to the door and looked at Stefan. "I'm sorry, I completely forgot. Stefan, would you like to come inside our house?"

"I would love to. Thank you." He walked into the house and smirked at his brother.

"What are we, twelve?" Damon asked when he wasn't immediately granted an invite.

"One of us is," Lyn commented.

Elean snorted at her sister's comment and turned back to Damon. "If I let you in, do you promise to obey the owners of this house?"

"No."

"Seriously, Damon. Our way. You promised. We call the shots. No lies, no secret agendas. Remember?"

"Yes, Elena, sure," Damon gave in, obviously being sarcastic.

"Then, please, come in," Elena and Damon gave each other tight smiles. Once the vampires had been allowed permission into the house, Bonnie came back up and handed Elena and Lyn their jackets.

"Thanks," Lyn told her, taking her jacket and turning to leave.

"Wait, where are you guys going?" Stefan asked, turning to face them.

"School," Elena answered plainly.

"No, no, no," Damon immediately protested. "We didn't create a safe house for you to leave it,"

"Yeah, guys, Klaus is out there," Stefan reminded them.

"Right. But where?" Elena challenged. "No one knows. Look, I really appreciate what you guys are doing. And I'll be able to sleep at night knowing that I'll be safe here, but we're not prisoners."
