Snow crunched under Lyn's feet as she wandered aimlessly around the front yard. She had just returned home from her morning run. It was something that she had been trying to start back up again. Before her parents passed, Lyn would go on a run every morning. After, though, she could barely find the energy to pick herself up from bed.

Just as she inserted her key into the front door, she felt a whoosh of air behind her and rolled her eyes. "Hello, Damon." She greeted, without turning around. She unlocked the door and stepped inside.

"Do you ever sleep?" He asked, not bothering with pleasantries.

"What do you want, Damon?" Lyn deadpanned, in no mood for his games. He sped in front of her as she stepped into the house.

"Come on."

"Come on, where?" She demanded as he practically pulled her towards his car.

"Well, we have a job to do. We are finding that journal." Begrudgingly, Lyn climbed into his car and allowed him to drive her back to the boarding house.

"Remind me again how I got roped into this?" She asked as she clicked her seatbelt into the buckle.

"Well, Stefan and Elena are helping, so you're helping by association." He explained, all while keeping an annoying smirk on his face.

"I swear to God, if Elena wraps me into one more thing with her vampire boyfriends, I'm gonna scream," Lyn complained, which only seemed to enhance Damon's good mood. Lyn also noted that he didn't correct her when she said boyfriends- plural.

They pulled up to the Salvatore mansion and entered the house. Lyn followed Damon up the stairs, that was until she realized that he was leading her in the direction of the bedrooms. "Damon! If you are about to give me an unwanted peek into my sister's sex life..." She trailed off angrily. Once again, Damon only smirked in response to her frustrations.

"Rise and shine, sleepy heads!" Damon told the cuddling couple once he had approached.

"Damon, please!" Elena complained, pulling the comforter over her body.

"What are you doing?" Stefan asked.

"He's being an ass, is what he's doing," Lyn supplied.

"Lyn?" Elena questioned.

"Oh, stop being smutty." Damon intervened.

"Seriously, get out of here." Stefan insisted.

"Oh, how I wish that were an option." Lyn smiled tightly. Damon rolled his eyes at her before turning back to the couple.

"If I see something I haven't seen before, I'll throw a dollar at it." He remarked. "Now, listen. We have some very important business to discuss."

"And it has to be right now?" Elena asked.

"Well, we have lots to do. Now that we're all friends and working toward a common goal." Stefan and Elena shared an exasperated look, and for not the first time, Lyn felt left out of the situation. "So, in order to find the tomb, we have to find the journal to get the journal to undo the spell. So, first things first, since you are Elena and Emalyn Gilbert, you're on journal duty." He instructed.
