When Lyn, Elena, and Stefan arrived at the school, it was already packed with students working on parade floats. All of them were sitting together to brainstorm. There were also some people already painting and making signs. Lyn saw an awkward Matt and Tyler sitting together with some of the other football boys. Ric began to approach them.
"Hey, Mr. Saltzman." Elena greeted.
"Come with me. We need to talk." Elena shared a confused look with Stefan, and Lyn simply shrugged her shoulders as she followed her teacher into a classroom.
Both Lyn and Elena were not prepared for the news they received. Stefan leaned against the desk as the twins looked wide-eyed off into space. The door to the classroom was opened, and Damon walked in. She hadn't initially wanted him here, but Lyn had to admit that the older Salvatore brother was beginning to grow on her. Not that she would ever tell him that. "Damon, thanks for coming." Ric greeted.
"Sorry, I'm late. The dog ate my, uh..." He noticed the expressions everyone was wearing. "Never mind. What's all the furrowed brows?"
"I saw Isobel last night," Ric admitted. Damon's eyes blew wide at that confession.
"Isobel's here? In town?" Ric nodded to Damon's questioning. Lyn didn't miss how Damon's eyes went straight to Elena as if to see how she was taking the news. He crossed the room and turned to look back at Ric. "Did you ask about Uncle John? Are they working together?"
"No." Ric ground out.
"No, there not?" Damon pushed,
"No, I didn't ask."
"What about the invention?"
"Didn't ask."
"Does she know about the tomb of vampires?"
"I don't know,"
"Did words completely escape you?"
"Well, I was a little too distracted by my dead vampire wife to ask any questions." Ric snapped.
"What does she want?" He finally asked, knowing there was most certainly an ulterior motive behind her arrival.
"She wants to see us, Damon," Elena spoke up, her voice as if she was somewhere else. Damon looked at Elena and seemed to be soaking her expression in.
"Alaric is supposed to arrange a meeting," Stefan explained. "We don't know why or what she wants."
"You don't have to see her if you don't want to," Damon told Elena with sympathetic eyes. Lyn knew that Damon was obviously falling for Elena, but it's not like she was right there or anything.
"We don't really have a choice," Lyn spoke, cutting off the intense stares that were beginning to make even Ric suspicious.
"She's threatening to go on a killing spree." Ric provided.
