"Are you ready?" Hermes asked from the other side of the door
"I think so" I said nervously, looking at myself in the mirror
Hermes came in, staring at me
"Good or bad?" I asked

"Good... beautiful" he corrected himself, making me smile
"Come on, let us leave before Hades burns the fields" he chuckled

"He is angry?" I asked
"No, he is nervous. Nervous and worried that you will back out" he said
"Why would I back out?" I asked, following his lead as he took me up the stairs to the doors
"No reason it... it is insecurity Sephy, it often drives men to the many foolish decisions they make throughout their lives" Hermes explained

Insecurity?
"He is worried to lose you, it is clear to see, you... you are too good for us all Seph" he said, helping me into the chariot
"I am not as pure as people think" I said
I had disappointed my mother, hurt Hades before and I... I lashed out at Minthe

I kept her prisoner in the soil below my window

"Well you are still purer than the rest of us" he argued, setting us off

"She will be here, stop fretting" Gaia said
I looked around again, the fields went for miles, there was no movement in the sky, no movement of the ground
She was not here

Only the entirety of Olympus who had insisted to come and watch
To judge
Zeus and Poseidon had turned my wedding into a commodity.

"Are we late?" Poseidon asked, seating himself
"No" I grumbled
"She has not shown up?" Hera asked, feigning concern

I ignored them, turning away from them
Waiting
Waiting in agony
Where is she?

"Hermes... have you seen my mother? Do you know if she..." I faltered, of course she would not come
"Sorry, I have not" he let me know
I sighed
A parent was supposed to walk their child down the aisle

Give them away and know they were safe in new hands
In loving and caring hands
But she would not walk me down the aisle

And she would never agree to hand me away
"Do you want me to walk you down?" Hermes asked
I shook my head, he had done enough by showing up

I did not want to take advantage or hurt his feelings any more than I had to
"I shall be fine, I can walk alone" I said confidently

"Alright... I will see you up there then" he said, kissing my hand, before he left me
Alone... holding a bouquet of sunflowers.
