| Hades |

A long journey back to the underworld had me ready to finally retire for the night
But as I passed through the throne room, I came across Hecate and Persephone, a quiet conversation that died along with the night as I entered
"Hades" Hecate greeted, causing Persephone to turn her head towards me.

That gaze.

"Hades" it slipped from her lips so easily
A soft greeting from an angel.

"You are awake" I stated, unable to comprehend any other thought
Such as what her conversation to Hecate was about
And the amount of smooth sun kissed skin that showed under her thin night gown
Curves ever present under silk.

"I am, I had been looking for you actually" she said
"Me?" I repeated
"Yes, but it can wait till morning, if you do not mind, Hecate has rather tired me out" she said, smiling to what I could only assume was a new friend of hers.

And yet Hecate was certainly not one for... friends

"Of course, goodnight Persephone" I said
She sent a small smile my way. Settling my temper from before with Zeus.
"Good night Hecate" she said, earning a small bow of the head

Before she trailed out of the hall, doors closing behind her and engulfing me and Hecate in silence
A tense silent for me
And an amusing one for her
"What did you speak of?" I asked, staring after the door she left through.

"Women can have secrets Hades" she said, picking her book up
"Hecate" I warned, a dog standing up to confront my tone
"Heel" she said simply, placing her book back down and looking at me once again.

The dog lied beside her, submitting, my tone... wouldn't

"She spoke of you, and I advised her on her abduction" she said
She was not abducted. Not in my mind anyway
"Saying?" I asked
"I told her to give you a chance, that it is not every day you decide to break laws and steal a goddess away for yourself" she said.

"And she told me that she enjoys her time with you, but she is worried about her mother" she said
I knew she was
And I felt a sense of guilt towards Demeter.

She was a tyrant, an unforgiving woman who just like the others... rarely thought of anyone else.
But she seemed to love Persephone more than all else

She had abandoned her crops and her very being to get Persephone back.

- Demeter -

I closed the door to the cottage, our cottage
Setting off on a trail that I had taken many times in my travels
I was intent on finding my daughter
And I cannot do that if I sit home and wait on Zeus.
