Her eyelashes fluttered against her skin
Like butterfly wings
Delicate yet beautiful
She lay peacefully in my arms and yet the guilt that weighed down on me was unbearable

Too much for most man as it dragged my heart and my head
"Evening sir" Charon said, bowing before me, his eyes casting down towards Persephone

"Returning home?" He questioned as I stepped into the boat
I nodded, sitting myself down with Persephone on my lap
His gaze repeatedly flickered to her, before he set off.

I knew he had questions
I knew many people would have questions
But I could not explain my feelings
My thoughts
What had become rational in my head.

She... she confused me. I knew it was wrong to take her, to hide her away down here with me
But I also... felt at ease now she was with me.
Now I knew she would be in my company
And not another god intent on a token wife.

The darkness slowly faded
A mild light infiltrating my head and a softness encasing my body
I slowly opened my eyes, the soft sheets beneath me moving as I turned my head to survey my surroundings.

I was in a dark room
A very dark room. I could not help but groan slightly as I sat myself up, with much effort
My head felt hazy and my eyes took a moment to focus.

I was still in my dress, my feet still bare
My hand reaching back into my plait that was still intact.
I pulled it loose, combing my hand through my hair, trying to make sense of where I was

I was in the meadow. But not anymore.
Then I heard a gasp, a woman stood by the wooden door across the room, before she quickly scurried out
I stood on shaky legs, intent on following her, on asking where on earth I was.

But pulling the handle, I was met with defeat. As it had locked
I sighed, slowly walking over to the window
Where was I? Everything was... dark.
Gloomy
Had an air of depression amongst it.

"Persephone" I turned around. The sound of that familiar voice confusing me even more
"Hades?" I questioned. He stood still by the door, looking at me with such a... hesitant expression.

"Where am I? What happened?" I asked.
"You... you are in the underworld" he said.

"What?"

. Unknown .

Cyane slowly rose from her position, looking around curiously
It was too quiet, she had not heard Persephone walking around or talking in a while.
