I watched them from the window above Sat side by side as they talked I just hoped letting him near her was not a poor decision

"Well?" I pressed "She is not... she is not coping well, she is refusing to work and Zeus is becoming very impatient with her behaviour" he explained "Does Zeus know I am here? Does mother know I am here?" I asked
He shook his head "Zeus suspects, but then again no one could have predicted that Hades of all the gods would be the one to steal the spring" he chuckled softly
"Why?" I asked "He is a shell Seph, he does not feel for many, if at all, he loathes Olympus and most of the gods. He is unforgiving, and his judgment affirms that" he explained I thought he was... sweet, in a melancholy way.
"He has been kind to me Hermes" I said, fiddling with a dead branch in my hands "Of course he has, it is all a part of the trap Seph, do you know how many tales tell the story of the romantic that captures a wife and all these years later look at them, they drag themselves around Olympus and turn blind eyes to their partners' activities" he said bitterly.
"Have you been hurt Hermes, by a god?" I asked He shook his head "I have had lovers Seph, I will not deny, I have even laid with Aphrodite" he chuckled "But there is no love inside of me, not yet, not a soul that has captured my interest romantically" he explained
I nodded, it was nice to have Hermes here, to relate to if not anything else "That was until I met you anyway" he said, looking down as he played with the wing of his boot "What?" I asked surprised He smiled, looking up at me
"I told you before Seph, you have captured many gods' interest, including mine" he admitted "Hermes I... I do not thi-" "Do not worry, I am not professing my undying love for you, you are a friend to me, a dear one, and I hope I am the same to you" he said I nodded "You are" I confirmed
"Good, then tell me in honesty, are you safe? Here?" He asked "And if I was not?" I asked "Then I would have to find a way to get you out" he said "I do not think that would work out well for either of us" I smiled.
"No, most likely not" he said "Hermes. Time to leave" a guard spoke He turned his attention back to me "This is where our conversation ends flower" he said "You will come again though?" I asked
I know he did not have the power to demand anything from Hades Nor the power to take me from this place But I appreciated his support. And his company "I am between worlds frequently, I was actually neglecting my job visiting you, this will make it easier to see you I suppose" he laughed, trying to lighten my mood But it did not work. I did not like being kept against my will.
