"I do trust you" She whispered, too lost staring at me.
"Do you... do you feel for Hermes?" I asked bluntly
I needed to know
Ares. Apollo. Hermes. It was clear they were all as infatuated with her as I was when they met her.

"What? No, no of course not" she said, looking down
"Hermes is a dear friend to me, he only wanted to lift my mood after..." she went quiet for a moment.
"I... I like you Hades, you make me feel... free. I know that makes no sense" she chuckled dryly
"But you... you have given me more freedom than I have ever had before, and it has allowed me to start to find certain parts of me that I have not seen before" she explained.

"Please forgive me" she said, taking my hand in hers
I nodded
I already had. I was terrified of her leaving me. Rejecting me. I was not angry at her.

"Come on" I said, standing to my full height, pulling her up with me
"I have tired you enough" I said, leading us out of the hall
"I think tiring myself out was my fault" she said, guilt in her tone

I stopped, making her face me
"Persephone, I do not exactly desire for you to leave. I want you to stay here. But you have not angered me, please do not get upset and think that you have" I said

"I am sorry that Minthe unsettled you, she should not have even been let into the castle" I said honestly
She nodded, offering a small smile
One that I knew was for show
"She is nothing, to me anyway, you... my sun rises and falls with you" I said honestly.
Her smile turned genuine, it made my cold lonely heart melt for her.

Now that we had spoken. I wanted to show her the land I had created for her
But she was too tired
It was evident on her face that she had had a long day. A restless one.
She was dropping to sleep as we walked, and so eventually, I scooped her frame into my arms as we walked.

She protested for a few seconds before yielding, and lying her head back onto my forearm, I set her down upon her bed and she opened her eyes, staring at me the whole time as I tucked her away
Hiding the small flower amongst blankets to keep her safe. To keep her warm after a day in the cold lake.

"Goodnight Persephone" I said, kissing her forehead.
"Please" she whispered, her hand ghosting mine
"Stay" she said, looking up at me
Those blues. Those blues that drowned me over and over
That took me to the edge of death and then gave me air.

They drew me in and I laid beside her.
Her head finding refuge on my chest, hair splayed across her back and my arm as I held her close
She came back.
She came back and she chose me.
She asked me to stay

Could she...
Could she possibly be falling the way I was for her?

I could not sleep. As the darkness crept throughout the halls and settled the underworld for the evening, I stared at the same crack in the ceiling for hours
Relishing in her touch and wondering what her reaction would be tomorrow
When I show her
