"Am I too late to mend what I broke, Mavy? Am I?" Kim asked in a hushed tone as her heart starts to break into pieces, hands clutching tight into the younger woman's hand.

Iris sighed and closed her eyes, trying to stop her tears at bay. She was mustering all the strength within her to stop herself from holding the older woman in front of her. She needs to get ahold of the reins and prevent herself from falling into the charms of Kim. Though she missed the older woman immensely, she needs time to herself and find the old her.

It's in the depths of her own pain that she sought to find herself.

START OF FLASHBACK

"What are you doing here?" Iris asked when his brother showed up in her clinic.

"Nice to see you, too sister." Arman ignored her sister's smug face. "Here." The older man slid an envelope into her desk.

"So this is the little surprise you're talking about?" Iris hissed.

"Just open it!" Arman exclaimed impatiently while her sister is being a stubborn ass.

With the envelope on her hand, Iris opened it up and found a plane ticket bound to England. Confusion set on her face, her brows started to furrow.

"Surprise!" Arman laughed when her sister didn't react.

"I have work, Arman. My patients needs me." Iris rebutted.

Arman unamused, raised his brows whilst giving her an incredulous look. "Your patients or the one who shouldn't be named?"

"What? No! I haven't seen her and don't have any plans in doing so anytime soon." Iris mumbled the last words flatly.

"Then what's stopping you?!" Iris knew that Arman would be persistent as hell if he wants to get something.

"Fine!" The younger woman just sighed in resignation coz she knows her resistance was no match to his brother's persistence.

"C'mon, it would be fun!" Mom and dad will be flying there as well.

With the mention of their parents, her heart swelled with excitement. Maybe she really needs this time to be away of everything that would remind her of the older woman. Maybe it's really not a bad idea at all.

END OF FLASHBACK

"Bummy boo," Iris gulped. Oh how she missed saying those words that it sounded like a sin. "You need to get better, hmm?" Iris hummed as she tucked the stray hair from the older woman's face.

"You have to take care of yourself, bummy." The younger doctor prodded her thumb on the older woman's cheeks to dry her tears.

"You can't be as reckless as this anymore, yeah?" Mavy said full of adoration, her voice calm and still. Little did she know, it brought solace to Kim's raging heart.

"I heard you were seeing a therapist?" Mavy paused and caressed Kim's cheeks whilst the older woman closed her eyes and savor the warmth as she nods. "I'm so glad you're doing this for yourself,

"You have to be strong especially when no one's around, when I'm no longer around." Kim's bloodshot eyes fluttered open when she grasped what Iris was trying to say. She incessantly shook her head making her cry even harder.

"No no no! I will get better. I will take care of myself. I won't be reckless anymore. I will continue seeing my therapist but, please! Don't leave me! Please, Mavy boo." Kim was now crying hard, sobbing into the younger doctor's palm.

"I can do all those things with you right here. I won't go near you. I promise! This is the last time you'll see me for now until I'm better. Please, Mavy boo?" Kim whispered unable to hold back her breakdown.
