Speeding off with her roof down, cool breeze kissed her cold skin as the light from the lamp post she passed by bathed her chilled skin. It was one of those nights that she had spent years ago driving in the middle of the night with one destination in mind.

Becca.

She had this heavy feeling in her chest that she needs to unload and be on that familiar place. There are a lot of things running in her mind with what she have eavesdropped. She has trudged down a dangerous path, a path her mind should have not taken, a path that is so destructive and elusive. She had gone and wandered into that limbo, feeding her thoughts with unhealthy conclusions.

Meanwhile, Iris never meant to replace what Becca has built in Kim's life but that would be a hard thing for Kim to understand as she's so blinded by grief and anger. Anger of being abandoned by the ones she has loved.

That night, Kim lulled herself into her departed's tombstone seeking for refuge and venting everything out. She spoke of her uncertainties and her deceptive thoughts without realizing that all of it was falling into an abyss. She has forgotten that there was one person that was willing to patch all of her fears, someone that is willing to chase the monsters under her bed, someone that is willing to love her despite of her shortcomings.

Iris.

She's so blinded by her own pain that she disregarded the efforts of the young doctor. While she was nursing her own pain, she failed to see that there's someone who's emptying their own bucket of happiness just to fill the void so she can get out of that deep hole.

The younger woman waited for Kim to come back the whole stretch of the night. She knew well where the latter has gone to and once again, she sported a blind eye and poured her utmost understanding to consider Kim's intentions in going back to that place. It hurt her unimaginably but she chose not to recognize her own pain.

Good thing Genevieve was there the whole time Kim wasn't around. It was past midnight when Kim came back with a vacant eyes.

"You two better go home and catch some sleep coz tomorrow will be a long day." Viv said but Kim's stark expression didn't falter.

There's this surge of relief from the older woman after letting all out at her ex's tomb and it felt like she has gained a little bit of peace after that.

She just nodded and marched out the building not even looking back if Iris followed suit.

"Bummy, let me drive." Iris cautiously said and Kim handed her the keys with a one blank glance.

She felt like she was walking through egg shells. With all her efforts unrequited, she never realized that she was getting drained rapidly.

"Good night, bummy." Iris spoke as they lay on Kim's bed watching the intricate design of the ceiling. Iris is still at awe with the interior of Kim's house built in the outskirts away from the city. There's this little details that represents Kim's personality.

"Mavy." Kim spoke in a familiar low tone that brought shivers to the younger doctor's skin.

"Do you need anything?" Iris grew anxious with her heartbeat picking up pace.

"Strip." Kim mumbled in a mundane voice bathing Iris in a cold sweat.

Iris stared at Kim with wide eyes. "Is this how she copes with grief?" She asked herself rhetorically. The young doctor gulped and stayed silent seemingly observing if what she heard was right. There's this dripping anxiousness at the back of her mind and she's in the middle of contemplating whether to succumb to the older woman's order or refuse and offer another sense of comfort.
