"Where's Iris?" Genevieve asked as Kim walked in alone, her solid black clothes expressing the depth of her grief on this day of their grandmother's internment.

"I sent her home," Kim mumbled, eager to get everything over and done with before diving into something messy. Genevieve shrugged it off, unaware that a storm was about to ruin everything.

The rest of the event went as planned and soon they found themselves driving back to the mansion. Kim drove Iris's car back to the mansion even if it gave her a fleeting glimpse of what they had. A bitter memory that lingered in the back of her mind after that night she discovered what's behind the tragedy.

As they entered the desolate mansion, Kim's voice morphed into a hauntingly familiar, low, and dangerous tone, setting an ominous atmosphere in an instant.

"Did you know all along?" Kim muttered under her breath making Genevieve stop on her tracks.

Of course she knew.

"Knew what?" She asked confused and playing by ear.

"You were the one who kept the police report that night of the accident. I'll ask you one more time, did you know all along?" Genevieve felt like she was about to walk into a mine field.

Genevieve swallowed the lump in her throat in a cold sweat. "I only knew the name but not the face and I didn't know it was her until I double checked days after you brought her home." And there the truth was, hanging mid air like a cotton being flown over.

Kim's expression turned into a blanket of deluging whirlwind ready to rip anything that goes out of it's way. Kim felt she has been played all along. She felt betrayed. She felt betrayed by her own sister.

"Why did you keep it from me?" Her eyes were stone cold and her voice sounded languidly familiar. It mirrored the old Kim when the tragic incident happened years ago and it scared Genevieve down to the bones.

In a rush of memories, Kim recalled the lingering side glances and unsettling stares her sister had given when she introduced Iris to the family. The inexplicable attraction she felt towards Iris suddenly made sense—it was the underlying reason behind her sister's reactions.

She knew.

The voice in her head was louder than the sound of what her heart wanted to say.

While Kim is having all the preconceived feelings of betrayal in her head, she forgot that her sister wanted Iris for all the right reasons. She has not taken into consideration the fact that Iris has rescued her out of the depth on that dark place of despair, the fact that Iris has helped her soften up and let the sunshine get into her world. She has forgotten that Iris has made her feel again. She has forgotten that Iris was the catalyst why she was able to smile again after so long of wearing her grief on her sleeves.

She has forgotten.

"I was terrified that you might go back to your former self, to the old Kim that was so fraught. I couldn't bear the thought of losing you again, Kimmy, and that fear overwhelmed me to the point where I didn't care whether you'd understand where I'm coming from." Genevieve mumbled in a frustrated tone.

"I saw how Iris changed you, how she effortlessly pulled you out of that dark abyss you were trapped in. I saw how she effortlessly coaxed a wide smile from your lips without even trying. I witnessed your demeanor brightening whenever she was around," Viv continued whilst Kim remained silent.
