The cold air from the air conditioner was so chilling that Kan didn't want to get out of bed. Last night, he and Kim watched Netflix until late at night while drinking several cans of beer each. This morning, both of them were still lying motionless in bed, even though Kim's alarm clock kept ringing because he forgot to turn it off before going to bed.

Buzz Buzz Buzz...

Kan's phone vibrated when a message popped up on the app. The phone's owner was slightly startled by the vibrating sound but didn't manage to fully open his eyes right away. He tossed a little, his face scrunched in drowsiness, before flipping over to reach for his phone on the bedside table. He squinted a bit to let his pupils adjust to the bright light from the screen. He tried to focus on who had sent him a message this early in the morning.

P'Book sent you a message.

"Huh? P'Book?" Kan mumbled to himself when he saw the name of the person who sent the message. "What does he want?"

Because he had message previews turned off, he didn't know what the other person had messaged him about; other than that, he would have to open the chat to see. His fingers swiftly tapped to open it.

P' Book : What are you up to today, little brother?

P' Book : I was thinking of going to work at Siam.

P' Book : Wanna come with me?

He paused for a moment after reading those messages. At first, he couldn't help but be surprised that P'Book was asking him to hang out. Why didn't he ask Kong instead? But he stopped thinking about that right away because he saw this as a chance to be able to go out and about with P'Book more. He had been waiting for this opportunity for a long time already. Although he had thought about asking P'Book to take a stroll around Siam together, just the two of them, he didn't have the courage to do so. Today it was as if heaven was granting him this opportunity - if he didn't seize it, it would be such a waste.

Kan : Sure, what time?

P' Book : Around noon is fine.

P' Book : So we can go eat.

Kan : Okay!

P' Book : See you later, little brother.

Kan rapidly tapped a reply to the other party, his heart beating strongly with excitement. Suddenly, he was feeling nervous for some reason. It felt as if P'Book was asking him out on a date, even though he had just invited him out for a meal.

He placed his phone down on the bedside table and got up from the bed. The shaking stirred the person sleeping next to him awake in surprise, wondering why his friend was up so early today. But Kan didn't notice as he reached for a towel to drape over his shoulder before heading into the bathroom.

Kan gripped the strap of his shoulder bag as he heard the subway announcement that the next stop was Siam Station. He sat on the train until it came to a full stop at the platform before standing up to follow the other passengers out of the car. There were many people milling about on the crowded platform. So he avoided them by walking over to the other end of the wall, where there was an escalator that people rarely used.

He headed straight for the exit that connected the subway to the mall. His left hand fished out his transit pass from his pants pocket to tap on the exit gate. As soon as the sliding doors opened, he briskly walked through. He made a beeline for the famous coffee shop located in the connecting walkway because P'Book hadn't specified where they should meet - only that they should meet at Siam.
