CHAPTER 58 : The Test

Book and Kan returned to Book's condominium after spending the evening together in a downtown park. They had planned to eat out, but because it was dinnertime, there were few parking spaces available in the areas they drove through. This prompted the older one to return to the condo and order food to eat in the room, rather than wasting time searching for parking.

"So we are not eating out anymore?" When Kan noticed his older companion driving away from the restaurant area, he inquired curiously.

"Let's eat at the condo instead. There's no parking."

"Oh, right."

"What would you like to eat?" the taller one inquired.

"I don't know."

"Then you choose from the app and have it delivered to the condo."

"How about hot pot?" the younger one suggested, curious to know the other's thoughts. If they were eating in the condo, hot pot seemed like a good choice.

"Sure, go ahead and order it."

"Okay."

Kan acknowledged and excitedly opened the app to find an interesting restaurant. This would be their first time spending time together in a private setting as a couple, unless they had previously done so. Everything seemed a little different from before. The atmosphere that arose was quite different from any other time.

Book's condo was on a high floor of a building with a clear view of the city at night. The large clear glass windows revealed the bright city lights reflected off the river that runs through the city center. Kan approached to stand and look out the window, while Book had just gone down to get the hot pot set that the smaller one had ordered from the ground floor of the condo.

Beep, beep, beep, beep

The sound of the automatic door code being entered indicated that the room's owner had returned. He smiled again when he noticed the older one carrying a large bag of hot pot into the kitchen. The younger one quickly stepped in to follow.

Book stood there preparing the hot pot set, which he had unpacked from the bag and displayed beautifully on plates. Kan, who had followed suit, offered to assist. So the older one passed the soup bags to the younger one, who poured them into the two-compartment pot and set it on the electric stove at the dining table outside.

The older one left after finishing preparing the pork, seafood, and washing the vegetables at the hot pot restaurant. Everything was beautifully laid out on the table before the room owner took out his phone to take a photo for his Instagram story.

Kan said, "The view here is really beautiful," as he sat down in his chair.

"You just realized that?"

"Well, usually when I come here, I do not have time to look at anything. I am pushed onto the bed or the sofa, with no chance to look at anything," the younger one grumbled, pretending to make a pouty face.

"I am sorry," the older one said with a dry smile.

"You're so lucky to live here."

"Yes, on days when work is exhausting, this view helps me unwind a little." Book moved closer, hugging Kan from behind, before leaning his lips against the other's ear and whispering softly, "Do you want to move in together?"

"Mmm!" the younger one answered while nodding, his ears turning red from shyness.

Smooch!

Book kissed the other's cheek right after hearing the answer. The smaller one quickly pushed the taller one away and instructed him to sit in the chair on the opposite side, as the digestive juices in his stomach were beginning to protest. However, in reality, this action was intended to conceal his own shyness.
