Kan and Book walked out of the restaurant after finishing their meal. At first, Book offered to treat Kan to this meal, but since Kan had already paid, Book invited him for some dessert so that he could treat the sweets instead.
"How about Bingsu?" Book asked as they were walking to find a dessert place, and he happened to see a sign for the famous Korean Bingsu shop.
"Sure, P'."
"Where is it located?"
"I remember that it's on this floor." Kan looked around, trying to spot the place he knew was around here with a lift area, before taking his big brother there since he was familiar with having been here with friends.
Soon the two arrived at the famous Bingsu shop from Korea. They walked inside, with Book telling Kan to grab them a table while he would order and pay.
Kan promptly went to the innermost part of the shop, which had his usual corner spot with sofa seating that he preferred when coming here with friends.
Book came back with a buzzer and a receipt before settling down across from Kan. But before they could chat about anything, He was looking outside the shop through the clear glass window and suddenly raising his hand to wave at someone. Kan turned to look with curiosity before realizing it was P' Eiw, the coordinator from their TV series shoot.
P' Eiw looked excited to coincidentally run into Book and Kan. She immediately rushed into the shop before plopping down into the seat next to Book. Then she smiled brightly at the two boys.
"Hello, P' Eiw," Kan greeted with a wai*. (*A Wai is a traditional Thai greeting gesture that is used to say hello, goodbye, thank you or I'm sorry in Thai culture and to show respect, gratitude or acknowledgment to another person.)
"Oh, Kan, I didn't expect to see you here, How are you?" P' Eiw said, slightly out of breath from running into the shop. Due to her age and being a bit overweight compared to standard criteria, she got winded more easily than normal people.
"I'm good, just as usual," Kan replied.
Buzzzzz!
But before they could talk, the buzzer began to vibrate loudly. Everyone was slightly startled before Book got up to grab their Bingsu order.
A large bowl of ripe yellow mango bingsu was placed on the table along with two spoons and sweetened condensed milk to add more sweetness if desired. Kan's eyes widened at the sight because the dessert always looked so tempting. He could barely contain himself but held back in case anyone wanted pictures first.
Meanwhile, Kan noticed there were no drinks on the table at all. He volunteered to get some tea from the self-serve station the shop provided. Soon he came back with a tray of about eight small tea cups.
"Why did you bring so many?" P' Eiw asked upon seeing the number of tea cups Kan was holding.
"The cups are small, so we won't have to walk back multiple times," Kan explained as he distributed the tea cups around the table before calling the staff to collect the tray back.
They dug into the Bingsu after some more chatting. The previous sounds of conversation at the table turned into silence as both Kan and Book were absorbed by the dessert right in front of them. Spoons were continuously shoveled into mouths without a pause. Despite both complaining of being full earlier at the restaurant, they now ate the sweet dessert nonstop.
"Who was it again complaining he was too full?" Book looked at the younger man with a faint smile, endeared by his serious attitude towards food.
"Sweets and savory go into different stomachs!!!" Kan argued back with exaggerated eyes.
