Kan and Book did not spend much time together after finishing filming their latest series. The elder brother returned to his regular job, where he had been promoted and now had more responsibilities, leaving little time to meet Kan as before. The younger brother was bored at home and rarely went out.

Kan had spent nearly 30 minutes scrolling through Netflix looking for a movie to watch but had yet to find anything he liked. He sighed deeply and glanced at the wall clock. Although it was before noon, he felt as if he had already lived the entire day, despite the fact that he had not done anything since waking up.

Buzz buzz...

Kan's phone vibrated. He turned to see that Han was video calling him. He immediately accepted.

"Hey, bro," Kan said as Han's face appeared on the screen.

"What're you up to?"

"Just lying around, looking for a movie to watch."

"Ah..."

"What's up?" Kan inquired, noting that Han's expression was not particularly pleasant, which was unusual for the normally cheerful Han.

"My girlfriend has broken up with me."

"What?!"

"Last night..."

"What? I am confused; I thought you two were still madly in love."

"A lot of stuff accumulated over time, bro. I didn't have much time since I was at work.

The sigh that followed immediately informed Kan that Han was also saddened by it. However, Kan believed that those outside of the entertainment industry had no idea how difficult and exhausting their jobs could be. And it is a job with no set hours; one day you might be free, but two days later you could be assigned an urgent last-minute task.

If they turned down work to go on dates, they would be cutting off their only source of income. Rejecting paid jobs would result in them being fired by their managers, who would also lose money in the process.

"Ah screw her, find a new one," Kan attempted to console him, not wanting Han to be sad for too long.

"Better to be single, bro. No more girlfriends."

"Hmm?!!"

"Seriously! Just focus on making money."

Kan could not help but laugh after hearing Han's words. This younger brother was a good-looking charmer. When he was single, people would hit on him nonstop. But that was his style: attractive people tended to be pickier. When Han became bored, he would simply bask in the attention rather than commit to anyone. When Han first started dating his last girlfriend, Kan thought they were a good match because she was an aspiring national youth athlete and he was the famous male lead of a hit BL series with nearly a million followers, as well as a former youth athlete.

How did the odds work out?

Kan was overjoyed for them at the time, but he never mentioned it because he knew dating was taboo for BL actors, especially with women, and it was strictly forbidden to discuss. Han was also good at keeping secrets, and his girlfriend never revealed anything. Their relationship appeared to be going well, so Kan was surprised when it ended.

However, as the saying goes, love exists only between two people. There was probably a lot more going on in their relationship than an outsider like Kan was aware of. Others may have seen a beautiful picture from the outside, but no one knew what issues arose between them when they were alone together. Especially those minor issues that have accumulated into a big mess, because they could be the final straw that breaks the relationship.
