"Are you playing cards?"

The couple got through the door of casino. The spacious hall was conquered by loud chattering noises. Groups of people betting everything they had to win the game, some people screaming in joy for winning, couples flirting in the open surrounding, it was chaotic.

"Me? I can't play cards" L shook her head; confusing Ryuu on the other side. "Then why did you choose casino to date?" His tone echoed in perplexity. He had been pondering why she chose this kind of place to date, and now she could not even play cards to have fun even.

"You are the one who is playing tonight" L's words stunned Ryuu wholly. He's playing cards? When did he approve? She dragged him here to make him play? Just like that? "What if I say I can't play?" Ryuu responded. "There's no way you can't" L did not buy the lie at all.

Giving a hard time for the man to refuse. "Oh, come on. Win me some cash" The distance between the two narrowed when L held Ryuu's arm out of the blue. Causing him to furrow brows instantly. His adam's apple moved up and down. This woman should stop acting impulsively.

It gave him nothing but heart attack.

"You are already included in VIP list. Aren't you rich enough to buy this whole casino?" Ryuu returned a question. His eyes peered down at the woman's faint smile. He had realized how rare for her to smile. Niki, the club's manager told him how cold and scary she was with others.

Now, she was smiling, be it small or not. "Just because I am rich doesn't mean I don't have a chance to experience how betting feels like" L frowned. Her grip on Ryuu's arm remained. Not willing to let go of him. "Don't tell me you have a hobby of gambling" The man asked.

"It's not gambling. It is the thrill you get when you don't know whether you're winning or losing. I have been restrained by works for years after my parents' death. I established the brand to regain the fame. And I promised myself not to be distracted. But never mind that promise"

L shrugged; "I changed my mind and decided to date someone who would be suitable to become my partner in crime" Her confession dragged Ryuu into silence. Oh, that's how it was. This woman wanted to escape from life of confinement. No wonder she was eager to date him.

All because she wanted to be carefree.

"Why did you choose me?" Ryuu's gaze softened as curiosity rang in his tone. And L looked up into his eyes. "Because I like you" With stars gleaming in gaze, she admitted. Hushing down the man entirely. He blinked; processing the situation. She liked him? Already?

"From the first time I met you, I knew you would bring me the freedom I want. In conclusion, I tried to invest in your business in order to make you mine" Her words were so sweet, just like honey dripping down on the man's heart. Being confessed, Ryuu could not respond.

'Because I like you' the words repeated in his mind. Stuck in the loop. "Let's continue this conversation later. We should play first" When she had stepped forward too far, L tried to take back a few steps to leave Ryuu yearning for more. "Aw, mhm" The man cleared his throat.

Foolish him. How could he fall for mere words? He had seen tons of women saying same things to him and his men. This was nothing. He had to remember how easy it was for a woman to say such words. That night, Ryuu did not have any other choices but to play cards for L.

It was bizarre.

He felt a bit carefree, as if the stress from the works had vanished for a second. Whenever he pulled the cards out to win, Laurestine would smile proudly. He was eager to win, unknowingly wanting to see her smile over his victory. The atmosphere was ethereal.
