"You can be at ease”

Adelio flashed a faint smile, assuring the woman to relax. The debt collectors would be wandering around her house by now. He could not send her off no matter how strong she insisted. So, he dragged her to his apartment. Giving her personal space at the same time. “You have done a lot”

An ounce of admiration gleamed in L’s gaze. The gratitude she expressed healed the man. They sat on the chesterfield sofa as they held each other with fear of losing one another. Maybe, Adelio only felt that. He held her tightly in fright; while L cared about leaving with money only.

“Nothing much. I wish I could do everything for you if I could” Adelio’s low tone echoed. Hushing down the woman. She blinked. Gulping in silence. This man was so in love so that he was dissatisfied with his own capability.  But he had done pretty much for her; no, for Larissa.

Beyond her imagination, he did his best to fulfill Larissa wishes. An ideal man every woman would desire to have in life, he was that man. Quietly, L praised the man in her mind.  “Paying off my debt is already more than enough, Adelio. I am the one to say here I wish I could do better”

Beneath a soft gaze, L responded.

Her head rested on his chest, her fingers intertwining with his. They bathed in each other’s warmth. “I am just a selfish man, Risa” Adelio murmured the unexpected words. It confused the woman wholly. “Selfish? No way!” She furrowed her brows. But Adelio really meant his words.

He wanted to keep her near him. To have Risa by his side, Adelio promised to pay off the debt. Just to fulfill his desire. He viewed himself as selfish man with strong desires. Upon the reply, the man lightly chuckled. Finding it adorable to hear her defending him innocently.

“Tomorrow, I will talk with those debt collectors and settle it. So, wait for good news” Adelio leaned in. Soft kiss on L’s forehead made her feel loved. This kind of love was delightful even though this was all happening in the system. “Mhm!” L grinned. “After that, let’s get married”

Without any hesitation, Adelio persuaded. He sounded hopeful. Stunning L. Talking about something that’s never happening, was truly sad to hear. If only she could marry him and relish his wealth for eternity, she’s marrying him for real. Now, it was unfeasible thing.

She had to leave before that occurred.

“We are married now. Your last name is mine already, Adelio. This ring shall prove it if anyone asks. We do not need to rush about the wedding” She extended her arm and showed off the ring. But the response did not satisfy the man. “Risa, I have bad feelings” Adelio whispered.

Sending chills down to L’s spine. Did he know she was leaving or some?! “What is there to? Once the debt is settled, we can proceed to consider about wedding” She put the money first. Causing Adelio to frown. “Shall I settle that debt right now? Can we get married tonight?”

As impatient as he was, Adelio demanded. The way he was in hurry, surprised the woman. What a strange feeling. It felt as though Adelio knew she had plans to leave. “We cannot rush things related to the marriage, Adelio. Be patient. I belong to you eventually” L coaxed.

It was when the man had to give up. “Alright. I won’t ask again if that’s the case. I have to return to handle some matters at the company tonight. Will you be okay on your own? Shall I get some men to guard you outside?” Adelio’s worried tone permeated into L’s ears.

She let out a chuckle as she sat up.

“You are overreacting” She beamed. “Am I?” Adelio blinked. Making the woman frown. “Really? You said no one knew about this apartment’s existence. Why are you concerned as if someone would come to kill me?” L shot a confused gaze. And it quieted down the man.
