"Pardon?"
Ryuu was at a loss for words. Lauren slapped his master? "Quite a bold woman, but at least she is loyal. I am glad you chose the right one" Keiji poured the liquor into his glass. "Ah, I am sorry on her behalf" Promptly, Ryuu bowed. Causing Keiji to laugh out loud. "I don't mind!"
"But-" "She did what she should. It is a shame I did not get to meet her earlier" Somehow, Keiji's choices in words hushed down the man. Met her earlier? Did that mean he had taken an interest in Lauren? Was it a wrong decision to let them meet? Ryuu pondered.
"She is not feeling well today. Is it okay if we return right now?" Ryuu asked out loud. Using the excuse the woman gave. "Sure. I knew this kind of excuse would come up" A soft chuckle escaped between Keiji's lips. "Thank you, master" Ryuu bowed his head as gratitude.
He then waited for L in the car.
It did not take him that long to change. "Are you free after this?" L stepped inside the car. Attracting the man's gaze. "Why?" Instead of an answer, Ryuu queried back. Making L furrow brows. Why was it a question? "Free or not?" She repeated her query.
"Depends" And Ryuu responded, uncertainty ringing in his tone. "I did not get to enjoy dinner because of that jerk. Let's have dinner together. I know a place" L pretended to be clueless about Keiji's test. "He is not that bad" Ryuu was quick to defend his master.
Causing L to shoot a slight glare. "How is he not? He offered seventy million yen to make us break up. He is actually the worst" She scowled. And a sigh escaped between the man's lips. Well, he could not blame her for this. It was his master who put on a test without notifying.
"You will realize he is not that bad. Now, tell me where the restaurant is" Since Ryuu was forbidden from telling the truth, he remained silent and shifted the focus. L noticed it but she did not say anything about it and followed the flow. The couple headed to restaurant.
"Welcome"
"What do you want to have?" L's gaze lifted while Ryuu silently read the menu. "Anything is fine. You can choose" He appeared to be displeased. Confusing the woman. Did she choose a wrong place? Why did he seem uncomfortable after reading the menu?
"Then, hm, aragawa steak? We will take that. As for the drink, bring some wine please" L handed the menu to the waiter as he nodded with a smile. "It will be ready in thirty minutes. Thank you for the order" Before walking away, he informed. "You got time to wait, right?"
L turned to look at Ryuu. "Mhm" His dry response dragged L into silence. What's with the sudden mood change? Was he having a split personality? Five minutes passed. No one uttered a word. The awkwardness conquered. Annoying the woman. She could not endure it.
The fact that the man did not even bother to take a look at her upset her. Was there something more interesting than her? Curious, L turned her head to take a look; only to be stopped by the man. "Don't turn" Ryuu's voice made L straighten her back. "Why?" "They'll notice"
The confusing words put a frown on the woman's face. What happened to the proper explanation? "Who?" L restrained herself from taking a glance. "I have no clue who they are but they have been following us since we left the Takahashi household" Ryuu notified.
Hushing down the woman.
Stalker? But he said it's more than one person. A group perhaps? "Who are they after? Me or you?" Tilting her head, L leaned back with arms crossed. She did not remember making enemies out there which meant they were after this man for sure. "Probably me"
Ashamed to admit, Ryuu furrowed his brows. His eyes now locked with L's gaze. A sigh escaped between the woman's lips. "It sure is exciting to date a man like you. Having stalkers left and right" A tiny smile tugged on her lips. Taking the situation lightly instead of being serious.
