"Ma'am, that was amazing!"

Rosa grinned from ear to ear as she gave her thumbs up. Causing L to let out a chuckle in amusement. "Do you have any plan after this gala?" The question struck Rosa with puzzlement. "We are going back to work hard at the office again, aren't we?" She frowned.

L quieted down. If only she could tell Rosa to find a new firm job and move on with her life. "Sometimes, it is okay to rest from the work" L patted Rosa's shoulder while Rosa squinted eyes. "Are you officially giving me a free day?" "Yes" "Wait, really? Oh my god! Thank you!"

"Ma'am, Sir Ishikawa is asking for you" At the time, L's focus shifted. The first person who appeared turned out to be Ryuu. Unexpected. "What does he want from you?" Rosa scowled. "I will get him. Thanks for telling me" L walked out of the backstage, heading to alleyway.

She met Ryuu who was leaning on the pillar with arms crossed. His eyes focused on the ground. A slight frown on his face which indicated how lost he was in an ocean of thoughts. "So, you actually attended" A smile tugged on the woman's lips as her voice captured Ryuu's gaze.

"I promised, didn't I?"

His eyes flickered with admiration and delight. A small smile displayed on his lips. "Thank you. I knew you would keep your words" Ryuu nodded as a response. And the silence conquered. L waited for the man to speak up though. She knew he had words to disclose.

"Actually, I wanted to know why you asked me to attend" To the main point, Ryuu asked out loud. He hated waiting for too long. The quicker, the better. "Why? Did you come here against your will?" L tilted her head. The way her teary gaze beamed under the night sky,

tickled the man's heart. Ryuu gulped as he glanced around to avoid the eye contact. His hands in pockets, bawled up into fists. "Just curious" Although he held high anticipation to be chosen as her lover, Ryuu spat a lie. L inhaled deeply. She, then smiled. "I am not choosing anyone"

All of the sudden, L's words captured the man's attention fully. He furrowed his brows. Looking down at her smile concealed by mysterious aura. What did she mean by that? "Didn't I tell you before that I hate simple and boring things?" L reminded. It gave Ryuu heavy feelings.

His heart paced in anxiety.

Something inside him was telling him to grasp her closely. He felt as though he was about to lose her forever. "I do remember" The man responded. "Rather than being knotted by the lifelong relationship, I choose to be free. I don't want to continue boring days with one person"

L rubbed salt on the man's wound by using harsh words. "I just wanted to let you know about that to get it out of my chest. If I happened to die before managing to talk about it, I might become a wandering ghost. And I wanted you to see my designs too" She let out a soft chuckle.

Although she seemed light about saying it, Ryuu's eyes filled up with tears. His hand rose to seize her. But it stopped in the halfway. "So, try to forget me, Ryuu. I will be grateful for everything you have done" L flashed a beam. Words stuck in the man's throat. He couldn't move.

He wanted to hold her back and never let go. But his hands refused to lift. "I wish you a happy life" L took a step forward with her hand resting on Ryuu's chest. She then pressed her lips on his cheek. Causing the man's eyes to widen. Why did she kiss him after bidding farewell?

Lauren sure was puzzling woman after all.

Till the end, Ryuu never spoke a word. He lived in the loop, figuring out what to do. However, L had walked away. Leaving him behind with a farewell kiss. "Poor him. He should have been my target. In that way, I wouldn't break his heart unnecessarily" L sighed out loud.
