I forgot to mention. Aspects are basically like skills in SS, they follow the same ranking system I mentioned in the last chapter. Divine Aspects are basically unheard of, Sacred Aspects are just as rare, but not unimaginable and so on and so forth. It's impossible to have more than one Aspect, though additional abilities tied to the same Aspect are unlocked the further a human travels on the Path of Ascension.

I might not remember anything about myself from more than a few minutes ago, but I could tell I was never one for awkward situations.

After managing to tap into some sort of shape shifting ability to manifest wings (seriously, how many abilities did I have?) I had escaped from the Serpent, for the time being.

My unusually vast senses could still pick up on the creature swimming steadily towards my location.

A rather tenacious monster, apparently.

I shifted on my feet under the collective gaze of the black haired man I had latched onto and the silver haired woman who had apparently made a home for herself on this titanic turtle..

A giant turtle….

“Sunny, while I'm glad to see you…who is this child?”

Child?

How young did I look exactly?

I inspected the man I now knew as Sunny. He was rather good looking and seemed to be in his early 20s.

He was also incredibly short, taller than me by an exact inch.

“She called herself Rimuru Tempest, I have no idea who she actually is though…” Sunny answered, narrowing his eyes at me.

“I don't think I'm a girl….or a child either,” I said, in response to Sunny's silent query.

“You don't think?”

I paused, wondering if it was fine to tell them about my state. I did not know these people and had little reason to trust them. I didn't feel like making myself look like an easy target.

“Well?” Sunny pressed.

“I.. don't remember anything about myself,” I finally said.

As I am now, I can't maintain a lie or an act. I had a feeling that trying to pull one over on these two wouldn't end well in the long run.

The woman, Nephis, had a still expression, but her eyes showed all she was feeling.

Doubt, distrust…wariness?

I wondered if my analysis ability was working fine, what reason would she have to be wary of me?

“Damnation, things would be simpler if we had Kai here with us..” Sunny cursed, running his hands through his hair.

He turned to Nephis.

“Are you the only one here? Do you know where the others are?”

Nephis nodded negatively.
“I'm alone here.”

“Who's Kai…and why would his presence matter?” I asked Sunny.

He gritted his teeth before answering.
“He's a friend, and he can tell when people are being dishonest.”

That ability sounds useful and burdensome at the same time…

“Oh,” I muttered. I looked at them again, both seemed just as doubtful as they were when I first revealed my situation, but I also took notice of Sunny's willingness to answer my questions.

Nephis seemed like the extremely taciturn type, I'll make more progress if I get all my answers from Sunny.

“Do you know where we are?” I turned to him.
