Chapter 54: Surprises

Lupe Pov

"You do realize you 0have to worry about her Lupe." Mav stated as I looked over at them we had just finished changing into our suits for the night.

"I know, but you know how she is... that girl has always had me mind fucked at times." I said as I check my outfit as my phone started to go off.

As soon as I answer it all I hear is yelling coming from the phone.

"WHO IS THE GIRL LUPE?" Maria yells through the phone, "BECAUSE PICTURES ARE STARTING TO COME across places"

"OK ok you don't have to yell at me Maria. It was an ex in college, the one I had told you about. Like seriously bad news, she was in like 2010 to 2012 partially." I say as I put the phone on speaker

"What do you mean partially? Because you said there was an relationship not much more." She states as I can hear her clearly typing, my gaze looking over at Mav.

"It was that whole thing when she and Taylor were.. well I mean are doing their whole cat and mouse thing they do." Mav stated as my brows furrowed as I said "Way to call me out on it."

By the time we had told Maria everything that had gone on, Mav had been getting text from Lizzie asking what was taking so long.

To say the least Maria was frustrated with what had happen, but it was nothing that she or the team couldn't handled.

"So how frustrate is Lizzie right now?" I ask as we sat in the back of the cab, heading to my West Village place.

"She's not that bad, you know her she just wants everything to be settled." They said as they finally looked up from their phone.

"I am telling you Mav you better put a ring on it." I tell them as a smile comes across their face. "YOU are going to aren't you? I better be the best person!"

"Like it would be anyone else you idiot." Mav tells me slightly hitting my shoulder as the cab pulls up to my house. "I've always admired this place."

"Makes me forever grateful for your parents inputs though." I tell Maverick as they just nod their head at my comment.

"They are something, when they will ever stay in one place honestly beats me." Maverick says with a shrug as I hand the driver a few bills, getting out of the back of the taxi. The driver calling out for the two of us as they wave the bills.

"You do know it was only a 10 dollar cab ride." the driver said as they held out the bills out of the driver window.

"Don't worry about it, it's better to pay it forward." I said with a smile as a slight sniffle seemed to escape him.

"I seriously appreciate it, my wife and I were going to be short this month. Our baby got sick and it had been a hard few weeks. I mean with paying everything out of pocket." They said as Mav and I looked at each other nodding before pulling out a few more bills handing them to him. "You don't have to."

"It's always better to do something for others." Maverick says as they look over at me, even though Maverick had grown up rich spending time with my family had completely changed them.

My parents weren't rich by any means but would do anything for their kids no matter what it took. Lots of sacrifices came from it and I knew they couldn't forget that.

"How about this you get ahold of this person right here." I said handing him Maria's contact information, "She can get you set up with a job working with that idiot."

"I seriously appreciate it.. Um I didn't exactly get your name." he said as he shook my hand.

"I am Lupe and that is Maverick." I said as I pointed at myself then towards Maverick.
