Chapter 43: Dibs

I look down at my outfit once again, we had come up with an idea of there being little bees all up and down my dress, sort of as an Easter egg for Dickinson. My latest project had me extremely happy for people to finally be able to see the few things I had been working on.

I had even started working on a few songs that I had somehow convinced Lupe to come join me on, she seemed excited about looking over it, plus I didn't mind that the one the greats in the music industry working on it as well.

As I looked around the room taking in Lupe's pictures once again, I was seriously grateful that she had let me without hesitation get ready here.

For the most part I was definitely ready to go but still a little nervous, although somehow I was going to be getting there right around the same time as Lupe and Mav. Which we definitely had a special something to those who actually were paying attention.

We had actually talked to both of our teams to let us at least wear something similar to each others, her jacket had some of the same little bees as my dress. Although her jacket was going to to be completely sparkling, it was also to let her be able to match with Taylor.

My team was finally starting to realize that Lupe wasn't going anywhere anytime, my manager had started meeting up with Maria a lot more often. Which for the most part amused the heck out of me, everyone seemed to be just as terrified of her just as much as they would've been with Tree.

I glance once more at my outfit thinking about Lupe and I discussion about the upcoming VMAS and how I wanted us to have a subtle nod towards each other.

Couple of months prior

After being able to just hangout with Lupe before I needed to head back to the studio, Lupe was going to be going to Vidcon with everyone else. Their whole group was completely excited about actually getting invited to do a few things there. I had been trying to convince Lupe to maybe coming in and checking out what I had been working on so far.

"You know this is the first time I've seen you being this lazy." I tell her as she scuffs before looking up at me, she had been laying down looking through a few songs. She and Taylor had been promoting ME!, which everyone had been seeming to jump on to.

I watch as she puts in one of her AirPods, a silent hum escaping as she just goes along with what she is listening to. I see her holding out the other AirPod as I quickly jump down next to her, a smile escaping her lips as one soon comes across my face when I realize she is laying there listening to country. My voice following hers as we sing,

On your lips
On your kiss
On your time
Girl, I am calling dibs
Make everybody jealous
When I take you off the market
And get lipstick on your right cheek

My thoughts going automatically towards her, lately all I want is her to call her lips, kisses mine. My eyes can't seem to leave hers as our eyes finally catch each other's almost as if we were saying the same thing.

At this point we are both looking at each other. When she starts talking "so are you calling di-." I am slightly frustrated at the phone breaking our bubble. I know what I wanted her to say.

"That is completely amazing T, of course I'll be there and make sure that asshole doesn't get near you. Hey your team and mine wouldn't let me do anything back then, I mean you saw how he basically ran off at the after party." She said as my brow arched up in confusion.

"Tays You Need to Calm down video is nominated for video of the year. Taylor wants me to go be her body guard, you know just in case." Lupe tells me as a smile comes across her face. A "Shut it J" coming from the phone.
