Chapter 32: Distances

Hailee Pov

I woke up with my phone going off, we had gotten back from the Met super late, to say the least who ever was calling it better be important.

As I looked at the phone muttering "shoot I better answer this." I muttered to myself.

"Ash hey, ya give me a second." I said muttering into the phone.

"Were you still asleep Hailee?" Ashley asked as soon as I said hello.

"No.. I mean it was a late night. What's going on Ash?"

"So are you and White Tiger still a thing going on?" She asked as I hummed slowly making my way into the kitchen grabbing a bottle of water from the fridge.

"What is it Ash? I mean it has to be something for you to be calling after the whole Met Gala thing." I said slightly irritated as I put the phone on speaker.

Like I said I hadn't gotten much sleep, should I say instead we hadn't gotten much sleep.

"Well there is some talk going on right now and you aren't needing that right now. You don't want to be put into a box. Maybe you can start being seen with one of your exs again? You know to make it seem like you are seeing someone steady." She said as I let out a sigh.

"Are you being serious right now Ashley? Someone steady? In all honesty you mean someone that is not a woman? Right?" I said as ran my hands through my hair, closing my eyes.

"You can't come out Hailee it could make you be stereotyped  for certain roles, you are already getting somewhat type casted. Maybe we can get you to meet up with Cameron?" She said as I hummed along, not seeing a way around this.

"Fine. When do I need to be back in California?" I asked as I heard her flipping through some paper work.

"Sooner the better if you can get here by tomorrow that would be great. We need to get a jump on it all. There is talks about you meeting with Marvel but we haven't heard anything yet." She stated as I started moving around the kitchen and into the living room looking around at all of the pictures.

"I guess book the plane for me and I'll get there as soon as possible." I tell her as she let me know that she will send me the rest of the information.

I ran my fingers through my hair once again before stretching and started making my way back down the hallway, towards her room.

I was honestly looking forward to heading out with her in a few weeks to North Carolina. I guess that plan is now gone and I still don't know if I am actually going to tell her or just keep it to myself.

In all honesty it's probably better to keep it to myself, I mean it's just going to be maybe a few weeks right.

By the time I made it to her room, I was definitely so deep in thought about the whole situation. It took me a lot longer then I had realized I had been standing at her door for a while.

When I opened the door, I could see her still laying on her stomach looking so peaceful.  The sheets sat right at her waist, her back completely bare.

When I got a text from Ashley,

Hey all of your info that you
need! Take off is at 4:30 pm!
See ya soon.

"Well that doesn't leave me much time." I mutter to myself as Lupe slightly moves. "Shit"

I watch as she moves a little bit more before finally settling, a sigh of relief escapes my lips knowing that I wouldn't have to say anything right away.
