RAINA WAS ATTEMPTING TO CALL REBEKAH WHEN ONE OF KLAUS'S HYBRIDS APPROACHED HER. "There's somebody at the door" she said. Raina gave her a bored look "And? What do I look like to you, a door man?"
"He said his name is Mikael" The hybrid said. Raina stiffened immediately, though she quickly tried to cover it up. "Tell Klaus. Now" she ordered, not bothering with another word, simply making her way to the front door as quick as possible. Just before reaching it, she stopped, taking a moment to gather herself.
There were multiple reasons she detested Mikael. But one of the largest ones was that he could make even her dead heart race with fear. He reminded her of a time when she was weak, small and powerless. His very presence brought fear and the lingering remnants of a girl she wished would just die. Deep breath in, deep breath out.
She risked a glance at the doorway and felt fear bubble up again at the sight of Mikael. She was tense, too tense, and her breathing too heavy. Oh how she loathed this human weakness. She barely noticed when Tyler sidled up to her side. When she did realise though, she was quick to tense up and turn away so he couldn't see her face. She hated the concern she could feel in his gaze. "What?" She snapped.
"Klaus-" Tyler began. "I know" Raina cut him off. "I'll be there" she could see Klaus approaching Mikael in the doorway, though she had tried to ignore it.
"Hello, Niklaus"
Raina turned their conversation into background noise. "Are you alright?" Tyler asked. "Ofcourse!" She huffed, mustering annoyance into her voice. "It's just one vampire. He can't lay another finger on me" The words were more for her own reassurance than Tyler's but she would never admit that.
"Hello, Mikael. Why don't you come in? Oh, that's right. I forgot you can't"
"Then why are you afraid?" Tyler countered. Raina scowled "I am Raina Mikaelson! The original hybrid! There is not a single thing on this world that I have to fear! Not even Mikael" she was thankful that her words came our more confident than she felt.
"Or you can come outside if you want"
"Exactly. So there is nothing for you to worry about" Tyler said "This house is filled with hybrids that wouldn't let him get anywhere near you and Klaus. Me included" Raina hated that his words did reassure her ever so slightly. The hybrids would be useless against Mikael but she supposed the thought of having backup was nice.
"Or I could watch my hybrids tear you limb from limb"
Raina sighed "If I were you, I would try not to get too close to Mikael" she advised. A group of hybrids gathered behind Mikael on the lawn as Raina moved to stand a little bit next to Klaus.
