After getting an invite from Emily, Abel and Lauren go to La Push the next day to her place and Sam's while Bella heads to Jacob Black's place on the other side of the reservation. Emily gives both humans a hug as she tugs them inside. They're introduced to Paul and Jared by Sam, and Paul immediately starts flirting with Lauren. Jared behaves because he just got a girlfriend, Kim Conweller.
"I love your blue hair," Emily comments as she and Abel bake some chocolate muffins in the kitchen while Paul and Lauren flirt, and Jared chats with Sam. "Do you have hair dye? I can touch it up."
"Hey, Lauren!" Abel calls and Lauren comes skipping into the room, Paul following close behind her. "Do I have hair dye in the Jeep?"
"No, but you do at home," Lauren says. "I'll go grab it."
"Where do you guys live?" Paul asks.
"An apartment right on the outer side of Forks, right beside Salem," Lauren replies. "Wanna come?"
Paul glances back subtly at Sam when Lauren talks to Emily and Abel. Sam nods in approval. The Cullens are currently gone and not residing in Forks.
"Yeah, I'll come," Paul replies.
Abel hands Lauren the keys and the blonde leaves with Paul.
"When was the last time you spoke to your lover?" Sam asks. He knows that Abel's with a cold one. It's not as strong now, but he can smell that disgustingly sweet smell on him.
"Thanksgiving," Abel replies. "He called on someone else's phone. That was it." He exhales slowly. "I miss him, but I'm focused on finishing high school so I can go to culinary school in the Fall."
"Ooh, culinary school?" Emily gushes.
"I want to open my own restaurant," Abel says. "There's this boating dock that became abandoned after the owner got killed by... some savage animals." Or savage nomadic vampires. "My uncle's looking into the property to see if someone in our family can buy it." ******
Emily and Abel chat away while they wait for the timer to go off so that Emily can rinse the hair dye out Abel's hair and blow-dry it into perfection. Emily truly does adore Abel's hair. It's so soft and it colors so well. She also does enjoy having another human around, two humans. She can tell has a liking for Lauren, but she also knows that he hasn't imprinted. He'll be off her as soon as he does and she hates it for the girl.
"Let's go rise this out," Emily says as soon as the timer goes off.
Emily and Abel leave Sam and Emily's bedroom and they go to the bathroom. Abel leans over the tub and he closes his eyes while Emily to rinse out the dye. ****

Jared ruffles Abel's hair when he comes downstairs. "I like this shade of blue. It goes with your pale skin," he comments. "This is Kim, my girlfriend. Kim, this is Abel Swan, he's a friend of Emily's."
"Hey," Kim greets shyly.
Abel smiles. "Hi," he greets. To him, Kim is cute, she's an innocent kind of cute. She wears thick-rimmed glasses and her skin is just as gorgeous as the other Quiluete tribe members.
"My girlfriend didn't turn you bi, did she?" Jared teases.
Abel smirks as he eyes him up and down. "Nope," he says. "Still fully gay."
Jared chuckles. "Good to know," he muses.
The next few days is filled with Abel and Lauren going to school and coming back to La Push to hang out with the guys, Kim, and Emily. Abel priced that Bella's starting to brighten as she spends more time with Jacob on the reservation, too.
