Lauren wolf-whistles when Abel leaves the Cullen house with brown contacts to cover his vampire eyes.
"Look at you," Lauren boasts as she and Seth approach her best friend.
"You look amazing," Seth compliments bashfully.
"He imprinted," Lauren whiskers. "On a boy named Jackson Longhorn."
"Congrats," Abel says to Seth. "I'm sorry I'm tense. There are so many... humans here," he whispers. "Jasper...."
Jasper walks over and he stands by Abel. "You good?"
"Stay by me," Abel murmurs. "Please."
"Yeah," Jasper replies. "Hey, Lauren, Seth. Thanks for coming."
"I'm just glad to be invited!" Seth enthuses excitedly.
Jasper guides Abel away and sits him with him and Alice. Alice smiles at Jasper, telling him that it's best he does stay by Abel's side. She saw two scenarios, Abel alone and Abel with Jazz. The one with the better outcome where no one dies is Jasper staying near Abel.
"It'll be fine," Jasper whispers. "Just stick by me."
"I will," Abel replies instantly.
Everyone stands up when the bridal march begins to play and the French doors open. Abel smiles at Bella in her wedding dress, making sure to hold his breath as he grips tightly onto Jasper's arm (Jasper has a soothing hand on his new coven brother's hand as a comfort as he feels his struggle).
"Ladies and Gentlemen," Pastor Carlton Weber, Angela's father, speaks up when it's time for the wedding, "we are gathered here on this glorious day to witness the union of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan. Please repeat after me."
"I, Edward Cullen... Take you, Bella Swan... To have and to hold... For better or for worse. For richer, for poorer. In sickness and in health. To love. To cherish. As long as we both shall live."
"I do," Edward.
"I do," Bella.
"I love you." Edward.
"I love you, too." Bella.
Abel makes a mistake of inhaling to make himself look 'human'. "Jazz..."
"Get him out of here," Alice warns lowly after the kiss. "He's about to lose it."
Jasper nods. "Come on, Abel," he murmurs.
They sneak off and rush off. ****
"Who's mate is your new Tracker?" Eleazar Denali asks Jasper as he and his wife, Carmen, find Jasper in the woods while Abel takes down a grizzly.
"Abel's a tracker?"
"If he hones to it and keeps working with it, he'll be as powerful as Dimitri in the Volturi," Eleazar claims.
"That's Abel Swan, he is Emmett's mate and fiancée," Jasper replies. "He was turned in May. He took a breath to keep suspicions down in a crowd of humans."
Carmen watches as Abel stiffens. "He smells it, too," she says. "Blood."
"Human blood," Irina says as she joins. She couldn't be in that reception where a wolf was. A wolf who killed her mate, Laurent.
"Abel!" Jasper winces when Abel charges after the blood. He apologizes to the Denali trio before he chases after Abel. He sees Abel staring at the human. "Abel..."
Abel punches the rocks right when the human makes it to the top with his bloody knee and some rocks come falling down. He picks one up and it holds blood. Jasper slowly reaches and he takes it from him.
"I don't know if I can do this," Abel whispers.
"Of course you can," Jasper urges. "This is just hard today because of the hard full of humans. You do great around Lauren and around Bella. Just breathe here and then hold your breath there."
Jasper helps Abel through the breathing tactics.
"Thanks," Abel murmurs.
"Come and meet some people." *****
Emmett walks over to Jasper as soon as Eleazar whisks Abel away to introduce him to Tanya and Kate.
"What happened?"
"He took a breath, almost lost it," Jasper replies. "Learned that your mate's a Tracker."
Emmett smirks. "I knew he was special," he says. "Is he gonna be okay?"
"Yeah, but maybe avoid big crowds of humans for a while," Jasper muses and Emmett rolls his eyes.
They look up when Abel laughs and they see Irina smiling for the first time since she got here.
"I like you, Abel," Irina says.
"Are you going to keep coloring your hair as an immortal?" Kate asks.
"I kinda want to yeah," Abel answers. "It's a signature look, Kate."
"Hey, guys," Edward greets he and his bride walk over. "Hello, Abel. Am I doing okay?"
"Better," Abel replies as he leans between Kate and Irina's arms. "Bella! You look gorgeous! God, I can't wait until gay marriage is legal in Washington so I can marry Emmett."
"Alice sees it happening in six more years," Edward says and Abel pouts.
Abel turns to Irina and he offers her a hand. "Want to dance, Miss Irina?"
"I would love to," Irina replies and she takes his hand before she's lead to the dance floor. ******
Abel and Emmett go upstairs after Bella and Edward are sent off and they lay in the bed. Abel smirks over at Emmett.
"Want to have sex now and you finally not hold back?" Abel asks.
Emmett eyes cloud over and he nods. "Yes," he answers without hesitation.
