Sam sits on his porch with Emily while Abel and Jared and Lauren and Kim make a snowman in the snow that fell this weekend. Sam knows that the snow will stop soon, so he doesn't complain about the humans and his pack letting loose. Well, Jared. Paul is out patrolling. The red headed vampire, Victoria, has been around - probably searching for Bella.

Paul manages to get back secretly without Abel and Lauren noticing, and he goes straight to Sam.

"I smelled her," Paul states.

"Jared!" Sam says in a demanding tone.

"Sorry, ladies." Jared shoots a playful wink toward Abel, who grins - amused. "I'm being summoned." He pats a carrot nose on the snowman's had before he jogs over to the cabin porch where Sam and Paul are.

Abel finishes up the snowman and he wraps a scarf - one of his old ones - around the neck. He steps back between Lauren and Kim, showing off his satisfied smile. His cellphone rings and he sees a familiar number. He grins and he goes over to the Jeep to answer

"Hello?"

"Hey," Emmett greets as he leans against the outer wall of the Denali house. "I miss you."

Abel smiles. "I miss you."

"Abel!" Emily calls. "C'mon! You promised to show me your fudge brownie cookie recipe!"

"I'll be right there!" Abel promises. "Sorry, Em, I'm on the reservation with my friend Emily. I promised her a cookie recipe."

"You're on the reservation?" Emmett asks. "You do what you want to, babe, just be careful the guys, okay? Especially on the Rez."

"I'll be careful," Abel says. "Thanks for the call, but I have to go now. I love you." He hangs up and suddenly feels bad because Emmett hadn't called since November and it's January, going on February now. He shrugs and he goes inside.

"How is he?" Esme asks when Emmett comes back inside.

"Little busy bee hung up on me," Emmett says with a pout and Jasper smirks a little. "He's on the reservation with his new friend Emily. He's teaching her his fudge brownie cookie recipe. I told him to be careful. He said he would, said he loved me, and hung up on me before I could respond, little asshole."

Carlisle smiles. "He's a good boy," he says. "You're going back, aren't you?"

"I have to," Emmett says. "Being away from Abel is starting to hurt me, Carlisle."

"Can you at least try to stay away a little while longer? For Edward's sake?" Esme asks.

"I already left my mate for Edward's sake, Esme," Emmett responds. "What more does he want?"

Esme touches his Armand Emmett shakes her off gently before walking away and he goes on a hunt.
