Butters was waiting at his window at midnight as usual.

But something was off—Mysterion wasn't there. Mysterion usually appears the moment it turns 12, but Butters had been waiting for 30 minutes now and still nothing.

Butters sighed, and on the night of his birthday.

Butters closed the window and sat quietly on his bed, wondering where Mysterion could possibly be. He knew he didn’t tell Mys it was his birthday today, but since he was never late any other day, where could he possibly be?

Butters wondered if maybe there was some danger that he needed to solve, maybe he was stuck with paperwork, or maybe he just didn’t want to come.

Butters frowned before looking at his closet. He sighed as he got up and paced. He would give Mysterion 30 more minutes before he grabbed his Professor Chaos costume.

So he waited and waited and waited.

Ten minutes went by.

Still nothing, just darkness. Butters waited still.

Ten more minutes go by.

Butters watched the tree shake because of the wind, but still nothing.

The last 10 minutes go by.

And nothing. Just empty roads and shaking trees. Mysterion wasn't coming.

Butters sighed as he got up and went to his closet. He slowly put on his costume, out of sight of the window, just in case Mysterion popped up.

He put on his mask; it felt cold against his skin.

Butters peeked out the window once more, nothing.

Butters frowned as he opened his bedroom, looking back one more time as he closed it before carefully and quietly walking down the stairs and out his house.

Butters walked to his lair, thinking that if Mysterion didn’t show up, he could at least get some villain work done.

He knew that Mysterion would hate him for being a villain, especially if he were to find out he was his worst enemy. But he needed to get his mind off his bad mood somehow.

When there, Butters opened the door and walked up all the stairs.

He walked through the halls, trying to get to his office.

He got there and opened the door, expecting to see just his normal empty office. But instead, when he opened the door, he saw his office covered in papers, head to toe.

Butters was silent, "God, I really let this thing pile up, huh. How long have I been gone?"

He goes to try to get to his desk, only for him to take one step inside and all the papers fly up.

Butters yelps and takes out his closet weapon, a ray gun.

He shot into the room, only to miss, and for it to hit the back wall of the room. That's when he heard a bunch of loud voices all yell.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!"

He opened his eyes that he had closed shut and saw his team, covered in papers that were taped to them.

"What... what's all this?" Butters stuttered, still tightly holding his ray gun.

Craig stepped forward, holding a makeshift birthday cake as Doctor Disarray said, "Boss, we wanted to throw you a surprise party since we felt bad that your birthday was on such an unfortunate date."

Butters was silent before smiling, "That's... so sweet! Thank you! Wait, how did y'all know that it was today?"

Everyone looked at Super Craig who was setting the cake down on Butters's desk.

"What?" he asked before it dawned on him, "Oooh! Um....lucky... guess?" He didn't want to admit the real reason he knew.

Butters gave him a look that told him that he wasn't believed. But Butters just shrugged it off; it didn't matter.

"Oh well, thank you guys!" Butters said, a big grin on his face.

"H-Have some c-cake boss!" FastPass said as he quickly cut a slice for him. Butters was kinda impressed by that since he had crutches.

Butters took the cake, "Thank you. What kind is it?"

"Buzz, strawberry. We would have gotten another flavor, but then we couldn't have the decoration we wanted." Mosquito said.

"No! It's perfect!" Butters said as he took a bug out of the cake. It was delicious; the flavor was immaculate!

The whole cake was beautiful, little edible figures of him and all the tram were on it. Butters was sitting on a throne while everyone else surrounded him. The rest of the cake was the same colors as the earth.

"Thanks, guys. This means a lot to me," Butters said, genuinely grateful for all this. He had never had a good birthday celebration before; you can blame his horrible parents for that and them not remembering it half the time.

That's when he heard a chuckled. He looked over and saw The Coon.

"Coon? You good?" he asked, a little nervous about what he was laughing about.

"Boss, we haven't given you your gift." he said and smiled plastered on his face.

"A gift? You guys got me a gift?" Butters asked.

The others smiled as well, "Oh yes! We did! Come, come!" The Human Kite said as they all grabbed Butters and pulled him to another room.

It was....the captives' room, "Um guys, what is happening?"

"We think you'll love this boss.~" The Coon said, an evil grin on his face as they open and push him.

"Just look inside the bag." and with that, they closed, leaving Butters in the room.

Butters turned to one of the cells and saw a huge bag, big enough to fit a person.

Butters went over to it and carefully opened it, only to see a familiar face.

"Mysterion!?"
