Mila's POV

We arrived at the hospital and I was taken into A&E. A female doctor came in straight away to see me.

"Hi Mrs Williams. I'm Doctor Phillips. The crew tell me you're nine weeks pregnant and you collapsed and are having severe stomach pains," she said.

"Yes," I said.

"Ok. I need to do an ultrasound and we can see what's going on," she said.

A nurse brought in the ultrasound.

"Are you her husband?" The Doctor asked Michael.

"No. Just a friend," Michael said.

"You might want to pop outside for this bit. I just need to do a vaginal ultrasound," she said.

Michael nodded to her and went to walk outside. I stretched my hand out to take his in mine.

"Please don't go Michael. You won't see anything. I don't want to be alone," I said.

Michael walked up the bed to where my head was and he squeezed my hand.

The Doctor put a curtain across to cover my lower half so Michael couldn't see anything.

I felt her remove my bottom clothing and she put a sheet over me. I felt her insert the probe into me. It was really uncomfortable. I flinched as she pushed it in. I squeezed Michael's hand.

When she was done she pulled the curtain back and looked at me.

"I'm very sorry Mila. You are having a miscarriage. The ultrasound has showed that I'm afraid. With your stomach pains and now you are starting to bleed it's clear signs. I'm very sorry. I think the best option is to let this miscarriage just process on its own," she began "We will monitor you for a while. I'll come back to see you shortly,"

The Doctor left the room and tears streamed down my cheeks.

"Mila I am so sorry," Michael said. He sat on the edge of the bed and pulled me into a hug.

I hugged him for a few moments before I managed to speak any words.

"Can you ring my Mum? Her number is in my phone in my jacket pocket. We are meant to be having dinner tonight. Can you tell her I'm here and ask her to come straight here?" I asked him as I pulled out his hug and lay back on the bed.

"Yeah of course," Michael said. He rang my Mum and then came off the phone.

"They're on their way," he said taking my hand into his and squeezing it softly.

After a moment he spoke again "Do you want me to call Daniel?"

I shook my head "I don't think I can deal with him right now... not with this too," I whispered.

"It's ok. You speak to him when you're ready," he said to me.

I lay in bed a while and I saw my Mum coming in. Michael let go of my hand and went outside to sit with my Dad.

"Mila what's happened?" My Mum asked.

"Mum... I'm having a miscarriage," I said as fresh tears rolled down my cheeks again.

"Oh sweetheart I am so sorry," mum said. My Mum hugged me and sat with me for a while.

The Doctor came back in and said I could go home in a few hours and that I would need to rest. She said the pregnancy would naturally end itself through bleeding and that I needed to take a pregnancy test in a few weeks to check. If not I was to go back.

"If you need rest then your Father and I will take you home to Herefordshire with us. You can stay with us and we can look after you. You can stay as long as you need," My Mum said "I've got a few things at home of yours you can wear,"
