Chapter 29

Mila's POV

I sat next to Daniel and my other side was Michael. Ana sat opposite me and either side of her was Zak and Lando. Daniel's parents sat at Daniel's end of the table.

It was turning out to be a lovely birthday for him.

"So what did Mila get you for your birthday?" Grace asked Daniel.

I noticed Daniel smile before he answered "A week's holiday together," Daniel said.

"That's an amazing gift Mila," Grace said to me.

"Thank you. What do you get a guy who has everything," I said.

"I do have everything. I have you," Daniel said looking at me. He took my hand into his and I smiled.

"Where are you going?" Joe asked.

"The Maldives," Daniel said.

I drank some wine and our food came over. As Daniel had practice tomorrow he wasn't drinking. We ate our food and enjoyed some nice conversation.

I went to get up from my chair and Daniel turned to me.

"You ok?" He asked me.

"Yeah just need the bathroom," I said.

"Ok baby," he said.

Daniel kissed my hand before I made my way to the bathroom. When I came out the stall to wash my hands Grace was stood near the sinks.

"Hi," I said to her.

"Hi sweetheart. I just wanted to get you on your own. I wanted to say thank you for arranging all this for Daniel's birthday and us being here for the weekend," Grace said.

"It's my pleasure. I just wanted him to have the best day," I said.

"He definitely is. You've brought love into his life and he seems so happy. You both do. Just watching you not being at the track you're inseparable. Thank you for making my son happy,"

"He makes me so happy too. I never thought I'd love again. I thought my heart had gone with Josh but I still have so much for it for Daniel. For the first time in a long time I feel safe and happy. I completely trust that he'll never hurt me. It's taken me a while to get to this place but I'm glad I'm here,"

I saw the girls bathroom door open and Daniel popped his head in.

"Everything ok?" Daniel asked us "Just coming to see as dessert is here,"

"Yeah all good. We were just having some girl chat," I said to him.

Grace and I followed Daniel back to the table and we ate our desserts.

The cheque came and I grabbed it before anyone else could. I paid for our meals and everyone thanked me.

Daniel turned to me and smiled "I could have paid you know," He said to me.

"It's your birthday. I arranged this and it's my treat," I said to him.

"Well thank you. If only there was another way I could thank you," Daniel whispered with a smirk.

"Oh I think there is," I whispered back.

Daniel leant in to kiss me softly. We kissed for a moment but I pulled away knowing we were sat with everyone. I looked over to see them all looking at us. It made me blush immediately.

"Thank you for a lovely dinner Mila. I think it's time we all went to get some rest ready for tomorrow," Zak said.

We all walked out together. We were all staying at the same hotel which wasn't too far away so we walked. Luckily nobody noticed us.
